Re: Works That Influenced Twin Peaks: The Return
There are also a couple of scenes -- Naido walking while feeling the wall (part 3) & Coop leading Laura (parts 17/18) -- that immediately reminded me of Jean Cocteau's Orphee (/ Orpheus ). There are also broader thematic connections, backwards scenes, mirrors, classical Greek statuary (/natuary...

Re: Cooper's conversation with The Fireman in episode 1 (linear and non-linear approaches)
I think it correct to say that Cooper's chat with the Fireman happens between ep 17 and 18. It makes sense in the narrative for it to happen here. Also, he is in the forest near the vortex entrance to the Fireman's palace. The missing FBI pin is probably just a continuity error. Fireman and Giant ar...

Re: Valentine's Day 1989
I wonder why Laura would give James the necklace on that particular day, 5th February, rather than waiting just 9 more days until Valentine's Day (14th February), which seems more appropriate for giving such a broken-heart-shaped gift?

Idea for Twin Peaks/Eastenders crossover
After having shattered Bob, Freddy Sykes goes back to East London. He goes into the Queen Vic for a pint, and somehow gets into an argument with Phil Mitchell, who has a big, round, bald head. Freddy punches Phil in the head with his green glove, and Phil's head shatters into many pieces, and the fr...

Re: Crescent moon symbol
Thank you to the people who replied to this, especially Novalis for such a detailed response. The matter is much clearer in my mind: Crescent moon: Diana/Diane. Goddess of hunting and the moon. A woman who appears under the moon, in the form of Naido (who is of course Diane in disguise). Upsidedown ...

Valentine's Day 1989
I thought of something the other day: Laura's tragic last night is 23rd February 1989. She speaks to James, her true lover, and goes through many mood swings, near Sparkwood and Highway 21. This is just 9 days after 14th February: Valentine's Day! I think this is when Laura gives half of her necklac...

Crescent moon symbol
I am interested in what the crescent moon symbol might mean. It's on the note from Maj Briggs. It's on Deputy Hawk's map. Carrie Page (Laura) wears a necklace shaped like a crescent. The two horns of the crescent point downwards. This is unusual, as crescent moon symbols usuals point to the left or ...

Re: The little girl who lives down the lane (1976 film)
When Cooper tracks down Laura, she is called Carrie Page, and she is living on her own in a house. So she is like the little girl who lives on the lane, in the title of the film. In the 1976 film, the girl is suspected of killing someone. Likewise, in Odessa, Texas, Carrie may have killed the man in...

Re: [POLL] Best Twin Peaks book
I am reading Unwrapping the Plastic by Franck Boulege at the moment. It is one of the most interesting books I have ever read about Twin Peaks. I like the chapters that analyse TP in terms of Jungian psychology. So I would certainly recommend it!

Re: RIP Harry Dean Stanton
I heard the sad news this morning. Absolute tragedy. A great actor, who has inspired me so much over the years. I first saw him in Wild At Heart, in the early 90s when I was still at school. I hope his role as Carl Rodd in Season 3 will be seen as a fitting and noble ending to such a great career in...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)
I would very much like to see a Season 4 of Twin Peaks. I really enjoyed season 3. Thanks to Lynch, Frost, the people at Showtime, and everyone who worked on the series for making this possible. I watched some of the original programme when it was first broadcast on BBC2, and over the years, I have ...
