Re: Some digital painting studies (SPOILERS)

I think Andy waiting by the road is my favorite, because it was such a brief under-emphasized scene within the whole. All of these are full of 'wow.' I love the one of Sarah too.

Re: L. Frank Baum -- i mean, David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

On Twin Peaks:“It’s a real place. All the characters are real. And the place is real.”—David Lynch (April 2013, Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune) So that seals the deal? A quote, from whichever unstated context 4 years ago, pronounced so definitively by an artist whose approach to ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The point of a mystery is that one has the feeling it is solvable somehow. This, exactly this. Anyone can write a mystery if it doesn't have to have a solution. Anyone can build a puzzle if it doesn't have to be solvable./quote]Exactly. People are trying to solve a mystery which is not there. Who w...

Re: Does Judy's Dinner and everything after take place before the rest of S3

For him & Carrie to have met and traveled to TWin Peaks then be greeted at the door by a Alice Tremond, then proceed with scenes showing Sarah in her house as usual, would not be congruent -- that's the first thing I thought of.

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)

There's a very famous theory in literary history that all stories about doppelgangers are ultimately about narcissism. Not saying I completely agree with that, just floating it out there, because it can make for an interesting optic on TP...Cooper for one is someone who has from the very beginning ...

Re: Creepiest/scariest scene(s) [Spoilers]

Woodsmen appearing, & surrounding Doppelcoop's body and performing ritualistic acts while Ray watches, screaming. Not understanding what they were doing (therefore very unsettling) but Ray's reaction underscored the scariness. Music was eerily effective. The woodsmen didn't have much creepy-effe...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Thinking back, it strikes me as particularly and purposefully cruel to finally have Coop come back with the iconic "I am the FBI." Not only that -- claiming he was back "ONE HUNDRED PERCENT" !?! /L-O-L Were expectations too high? If Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John-Paul Jones g...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Heidi, the woman with the dog in Ruth Davenport's apartment building, Senorita Dido, and maybe Rebekah Del Rio. Heidi and the dog woman are just jokes. Senorita Dido looks like a White Lodge housewife, Fireman's wife, existing under his shadow. Rebekah Del Rio is there only as a reference to Mulhol...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

As for loose screws: Isabella Rosselini commented that Lynch LAUGHED during the shooting of the rape scene in Blue Velvet. Even knowing that there is a phenomenon of some people laughing to alleviate discomfort in awkward situations, it really makes you wonder... Link, please? Hearsay stuff...

House in Blue Velvet

Well now, with Twin Peaks The Return's finale, we've become aware that the actual owner of the house (that was featured as Leland, Sarah & Laura's house in both TP and FWWM) was willing not only to lend her house to filming again but appear herself -- I have a personal question that I doubt anyo...

Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?

1: I was hoping for more juicy info about the Woodsmen. Who are they? What do they do? Origins. Good point! It's true, while I hadn't realized til you mentioned them: I had been expecting at some point what was their "origin" story. I feel the Audrey storyline left the way it was is so di...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Eh, I saw that the Profoundly Satisfied Support group had emerged and now wish it could've been left well alone without dragging them into this arena for sport. I agree w/ referendum there's been plenty of extreme polarizing views expressed from both sides. Someone pointed out it was like a "do...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I wonder if more "closure" scenes were filmed for some of the other stories? And they were eventually cut to give LESS closure? This occurred to me - - although I never was privy to any filming / production that leaked or was observed & reported by others at the time. Just how little ...
