Re: Who is Judy? (Spoilers)

I'll throw a theory into the mix. - Judy is the monkey from Fire Walk With Me - the shot in FWWM depicts Jeffries' encounter with Judy in Buenos Aires - Judy is currently stitched up inside Naido's head! this is why she's emanating muffled monkey sounds - Mr C - as Jeffries insists - IS Cooper, and ...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

Been thinking a lot about Coop’s scribbles on the case files: ladders and stairways. In parts of the case files we see floor plans which display an aerial view of steps. Coop’s images of ladders (resembling the frontal view of steps) and stairways (resembling the lateral view of steps) work on a sym...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

Hi all, it’s been awhile. Here are a few bits and bobs I’ve not seen mentioned: - in the motel room, Mr C approaches a set of blue curtains on the left side of the screen (while talking) and seems as though he’ll part them and enter, but doesn’t - in the following scene, in the red room Cooper reena...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

I think having David Bowie walk into a scene out of nowhere contributed to the critical consensus that the movie was indulgent and nonsensical. I definitely agree, and found it frustrating and confusing myself on the first viewing (and Chet walking into the scene instead would have "fixed"...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

I always felt that it would have made a lot more "sense" and tied the first part of the movie together better if it had been Chet Desmond who materialized in the office raving about seeing Bob and the others. We just saw him disappear and presumably be taken to that world -- why wasn't it...

Re: The style of LH compared to FWWM, and other assorted thi

Great discussion guys. About this (here you’re describing Mulholland Drive): I still feel like it's a messy film structurally, in a mostly undesirable way that BV, FWWM, LH and TSS most definitely are not... I found this especially interesting because for me it’s always been Lost Highway which felt ...

Re: Episode 11

I just learned while lurking on IMDB that Jerry Stahl appeared in Inland Empire - am I the only person who didn't know this..? Apparently he plays Devon Berk's agent. Need to rewatch.

Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.

Got a question here: Just spent a few days in Poland and allthough DL obviously fell in love with Poland before/while making Inland Empire, it seems he has had a thing for this country for some time. Ronette Pulaski is most likely polish, Louise Dombrowski is definitly polish. From the start of his...

Re: Rename a part of Philadelphia "Eraserhood?"

The “Eraserhood” is a place I frequented for years before I knew of its associations with Eraserhead and David Lynch. It’s an old industrial area like you find in a lot of big cities, but there's just something about it that's especially atmospheric and unique. The other day I came across this image...

Re: Let's talk about Judy

Also in this thread http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2799 towards the bottom of page 1 LostInTheMovies and I discussed Dead Dog Farm as a Lynchian dilapidated dreamspace lurking behind/above (figuratively) the “convenience store” of One-Eyed Jacks (and seemingly containing a formic...

Re: Let's talk about Judy

There are a few connections here I’ve not seen brought up, although I’m not sure how they might fit together. In Episode 8 (Lynch’s) Josie goes to Seattle to indulge in shopping, then later we have Bob Engels suggesting that Judy was meant to be Josie’s sister or somehow connected to Josie. And the ...

Haha that works perfectly but was only partially intentional (how appropriate for Twin Peaks).

Re: Gender Idenity

Laura ends up dying instead of being inhabited by BOB, and it can almost be seen as a self sacrificing death (when putting on the ring). There are some more complicated explanations of that scene, but I don't subscribe to them. To me it's like a cycle of abuse coming to an end, and Twin Peaks is al...
