Re: Blue Velvet - the original seed of Twin Peaks?
The "ear" from Blue Velvet was actually used in the Twin Peaks pilot. It's at the centre of the pile of dirt (with the circle of candles). This pile of dirt/ear was shown at the start of Cooper's dream - and Cooper's dream ends with Laura whispering in his ear. Blue "In Dreams" V...

My comprehensive piece on True Detective S1. I even make comparisons with Twin Peaks. Have a read if you have a spare couple of hours.

Re: William Peter Blatty RIP
Exorcist III - is a film that is full of Lynchian type touches, that's what i noticed when I watched it again in recent years. The film is very underrated, and yes the studio (Morgan Creek, I think?) did ruin it.

Re: TP Season 1 & FWWM soundtracks set for new vinyl reissues
I was always worried about the Mondo/Death Waltz merger, and my fears have unfortunately been confirmed. I recall when Death Waltz were touting both these TP releases for 2014. Death Waltz should not have linked-up with "hipster" Mondo - original Death Waltz was ALWAYS superior to Mondo. I...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc
I finally got around to watching the Q2 fan edit of FWWM and...thought it was amazing. I know I know - it's not Lynch's vision. FWWM is one of my favourite films of all time and I agree that an artist's work shouldn't be tampered with. But saying all that I loved it. 3.5 hours of FWWM? Yes please! ...

I went for James/Evelyn - and I'm not surprised to discover that it tops the chart.

Twin Peaks - Under The Sycamore Tree - Redux
https://s3.postimg.org/yvxdrcwxf/5b70e862cf860b474992a43739c7ab54-1.jpg With the 3rd series due this May, I thought I'd update a previous (2012) Twin Peaks post. (Based around the series and film) I've tried to pull together all the TP blog aspects and centralise it into one post. It's the esoteric...

David 'Lightning' Lynch & Bowie - Beyond Life & Death
The 'convenience store' scene from Fire Walk With Me, is still in my top few 'film scenes' of all time...I cannot get enough of it. The 'Missing Pieces' extended version...is even better. With Bowie's passing...I've put this little piece together. It mainly centres on Bowie, but there are, of course...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc
Am going to post this here, in the hope that some fellow Peakies, might take something from it. The Lynch/Twin Peaks/Mulholland Drive aspects, are situated towards the latter part of the post body. The other stuff is dependent upon your knowledge/experience of the other media & personnel involve...

I just had to dig out a picture from the past... http://s14.postimg.org/9hv54oom9/bluefrank_the_log_lady_and_julie.jpg From the 1st UK Twin Peaks Festival, 2010....Catherine and a 'worse for wear' Julee, too. :-) It was an honour to meet her. Don't worry though folks....she and the log are in heaven...

Re: Farewell, Catherine Coulson
I was only watching Q2's fan-edit of FWWM yesterday...3 1/2 hours of pure joy and I always loved her 'tender bows of innocence' speech to Laura, outside the Bang Bang. The next day, I read this news. I met her at the first UK Festival and she was such a lovely warm person. One of the old school and ...

Re: The Dweller on the Threshold, the Lodges, Theosophy, etc
Which is to say, the good/evil dichotomy is not opposed, it's two halves of the same thing. Yup...I certainly agree with you on that aspect, I also think it's two halves of the same thing (not opposed). Thanks for the convo and input, appreciate it. And there was me thinking, that I thought that yo...
