Re: 5 favorite Twin Peaks characters?

The funny thing about the Major is I didn't appreciate him at all at age 10, but on my first rewatch in 10 years this summer I couldn't believe how awesome he was! His conversation with Bobby in season 2 usually gets me misty. Always loved Laura. Gotta have Coop. His friendship with Harry is one of...

Re: RE: Re: Mark Frost & Fire Walk With Me

But when I see the fan-edit, I really feel Lynch's purpose (Which seems a bit cynic or even comic). I feel those scenes reveal how disconnected those citizens were from the Laura Palmer drama that was taking place almost before their eyes and that would eventually shock them some days later. Which ...

Re: 5 favorite Twin Peaks characters?

Coop Truman Audrey Ben Briggs (Honourable mentions have to go to Sam Stanley and Chet Desmond, who I initially hated for taking the place of Coop, when coming off of the first watch through of the series, and I have grown to really respect for how they make the world of Twin Peaks feel so much more ...

Re: Mark Frost & Fire Walk With Me

I'll have to give that Peyton interview a listen then. Bob Engels tends to have some interesting thoughts on FWWM, though, sometimes I'm not sure how truthful he's being (or perhaps just forgetful-ness). I think one thing Frost might've been able to do with FWWM was naturally found some stuff for th...

Re: Mark Frost & Fire Walk With Me

I've heard the same things as you and not much else, except that he seems to have made a point of not talking about it even when he was willing to be more critical of Lynch than he is now. It seems always to have been a sore subject. And it definitely seems to have been totally Lynch's idea. Harley...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

I like the imagery of that cover, but, the actual typeface's are pretty bad. Could've used something cleaner and simpler (the North American cover being what I mean by clean typefaces), as it is it makes it look a little dated. It does say temporary cover though, so, perhaps the font elements were j...

Mark Frost & Fire Walk With Me

So, Mark Frost wasn't officially involved with FWWM in any capacity, beyond the fact that it was made under his production company. Mark Frost was off making Storyville at the time (in fact, the films premiere pretty close to each other). I was curious if since then, Frost has ever talked about his ...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

Oh cool, thanks! That's good to hear. I read the iBook preview but tapped out of the spoiler thread when it became apparent that people were going to be revealing google books material, as reading a bunch of random pages out of order seems like a pretty terrible way to experience a novel whose auth...

I keep cancelled/uncancelling my pre-order on the Audio CD. Really can't decide if it's worth it, or if it makes more sense just getting a cheaper digital audio book version.

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year

I'm in Canada, but without cable. So, I'm hoping that there is some legitimate online avenue to watch as I truly want to support the show. But, I'm not sure how Showtime licenses are wrapped up here (I mean, I don't think their Showtime app launched here .. I recall Netflix having shows like Homelan...

It can be hard to tell on the internet! Haha, and frankly, I'm just used to seeing people say .. well, essentially anyone under the age of like, 50, has the attention span of a pea ('kids these days' and all that)! So, apologies.

Re: What is the audience?

After all, his previous work had mostly been profitable, with much less media hype ( Dune being the only real exception). Not to go off topic here, but isn't it true that The Elephant Man is the only Lynch feature that's ever broken even at the box office? Looking at Wiki, that seems to be the case...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Must admit, I find it kind of hilarious that they felt the need to put out two different versions of that teaser. One for the OG fan and one for the less focused MTV generation. Or, y'know, one that's 30 seconds so it fits in a commercial slot. Also, you do realize Twin Peaks aired during th...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

For some reason I was getting errors trying to quote the post above me; Body of text seems to affirm that the book ends at the cliffhanger, which makes sense if a Vol. 2 is coming, but is a bit of a bummer nonetheless (I was hoping to find out this coming month what Twin Peaks has been up to for the...
