It's highly unlikely that Paramount owns rights to the special features on the season 1 set. I've done my share of bitching about the gold cover but they have made an effort with the complete box set and complaining because it doesn't include special features you've already seen is a bit petty. You ...

It's an ugly cover but it's just a DVD at the end of the day. The Complete Mystery may not live up to its potential but people have worked hard on it. I don't think it's a case of the fans being mercilessly fleeced by vile capitalists... We have every episode of Twin Peaks on DVD, and both versions ...

But FWWM was potentially the first in a series of films that would have continued if FWWM had been successful. There were loose ends left (the ring, the portals) to be picked up in subsequent films. The final scene of Cooper and Laura in the red room was the perfect way to end Twin Peaks. It leaves ...

David Lynch is my all time hero (along with Kate Bush) and he seems like a very nice man but reading about the graphic novel fiasco has left a bad taste in my mouth. The bit where DL comes into the story like the grinch who stole Christmas and single-handedly kills off all the building excitement an...

I can't wait for the Blade Runner DVD. The Twin Peaks deleted scenes will be nice to have and I'm relieved they're not going to fester in a vault until someone realises they don't exist anymore a la Blue Velvet and The Wicker Man. That said, I'm more excited about the European pilot, Sheryl Lee and ...

Thanks for posting that. I'm looking forward to the Sheryl Lee interview. I'm also curious about the discussion between David Lynch, Madchen Amick and Kyle MacLachlan and I'm thrilled the set includes the European pilot. Paramount have handled the release badly, from the horrid gold cover to uncerta...

The deluxe and standard discs are identical. It's literally just the same disc in different packaging. The davidlynch.com DVDs are beautiful but they're 5 or 6 times more expensive than the standard editions once you've added import duties and expedited shipping.

I can't believe the frenzy of hostility Paramount has whipped up around this box set. I didn't have high expectations because all the Paramount DVDs I own have cheap packaging and rubbish special features, but the fiasco with the ugly cover and lack of deleted scenes has made the people behind it se...

I already have the Absurda/davidlynch.com DVDs in deluxe and standard editions. Between imported books, DVDs and CDs and Ebay my David Lynch collection has clocked up a horrific number of air miles. My point is, at least 95% of people in the UK only buy R2 DVDs so R0 and multi-region mean nothing to...

It depends who owns the rights, shemsha. The Eraserhead 2000, Short Films, Dumbland and Dynamic No. 1 DVD releases were put together and released by DL himself because he owns the rights. As far as I know Universal no longer holds to rights to Eraserhead in the UK and the others have never been rele...

In the UK Play are giving away an Inland Empire poster and HMV are giving away five artcards. I don't mind buying multiple copies of the DVD to get the interviews and the deleted scenes but I can't understand why they'd leave the deleted scenes off the R2 release. Maybe it's a deliberate marketing p...

Universal are still selling Twin Peaks season one in the UK so they must hold the rights to that at least. At the moment Eraserhead and The Straight Story are unavailable in the UK. The Cinema Club editions of Fire Walk With Me and Lost Highway are identical to the French MK2 discs, as is Optimum's ...

Doesn't Matthew Barney make flms to sell to a limited number of people and that's how he makes money? I read once that there would be no DVD release of the Cremaster Cycle because it devalues the product. If David Lynch followed Matthew Barney's example seeing a new film would entail forking out hig...

The original UK release of Mulholland Drive was in a keepcase. The 2-disc Optimum special edition comes in a digipak inside a semi-transparent plastic slipcase.
