Re: Most impenetrable scenes

I think that Mr. C believes that he's communicating with Phillip Jeffries, but he's really communicating with Judy. This happens both in the scene in the motel room after he kills Darya (that mysterious phone call) and in the prison when Mr. C works his ability to manipulate electricity to screw wit...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think that Lynch and Frost felt that Cooper's return to Earth shouldn't be easy. Thus, Dougie. Also, the David Bowie scene in FWWM was a clear jumping-off point. When Cooper does show up in Twin Peaks, it's his Phillip Jefferies, quick appearance, "We live inside a dream" moment. We don'...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm guessing you're probably not going to get the bluray or DVD, but I'd suggest watching the documentary if you can get your hands on it. While it probably won't change your mind on the show, it's interesting to hear how much more elaborate Lynch had planned some things to be and to see how angry ...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

I have now watched all of the Blu-ray bonus features and they're fucking fascinating. I'm not aware of anything else like this. There are 10 billion "making-of" documentaries for all sorts of movies and TV shows out there, but probably not very many that span over five hours (counting the ...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

I'm not sure if this would be the right place to discuss this, but in one of the Beymer docs, you see a scene with the Fireman being filmed in the Red Room where he asks Cooper if he remembers. He's just standing in front of the curtains and speaking to Cooper. I'm wondering if it is just something...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Got the Blu-ray from Best Buy in Dallas this morning. I was able to watch the first hour of the bonus features and they're pretty great. If you loved the fly-on-the-wall footage from the sets of "Mulholland Dr." and "Inland Empire" on those discs, this is a treasure trove. The wa...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Amazon in the US usually ships a few days before the release date so that it will arrive on that day.

But not this time, for some reason, which means that Amazon customers are probably gonna have to wait another day or two.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

From what I've read, not many (if any) who pre-ordered from Amazon have gotten a shipping notice, yet. The most convenient place to get it in the US looks to be Best Buy. If you live near a store, they will have it in stock tomorrow. I think it's pretty much the same price as Amazon, too. Just reser...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work

Off-hand, I can't think of ANY movie or TV series that provoked such extreme reactions as this one. The people who love it think it's one of the most amazing, audacious, unpredictable brilliant things they've ever seen (that's me). The people who hate it are ANGRY and SAD and gnashing teeth over it....
