Re: 'The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks' new novel by M. Frost 2

It is a little emphatic, no? I suppose they just want to make absolutely clear that Amazon UK have been somewhat cheeky and shot their wad a little earlier than they should. Which isn't unheard of. I pre-ordered a book from them a few years back and received an email adjusting the release date befor...

It'll still be this Autumn, so I'm gonna put one whole Euro cent on it being sometime in mid-November in order to get the most of the Christmas present buying season.

Re: Annie in FWWM

I guess, it's possible that the Little Man could convey the idea of the message to Annie in a way that does not involve words and her subconscious interprets them as "good Cooper is in the Lodge...", drawing on the Collective Unconscious. She is in a catatonic state, so she possibly or pro...

Re: Annie in FWWM

I would be on board with this especially since the secret diary, which is what Annie seems to mean, is at Harold's and we never see Laura return there. EXCEPT that Lynch has this to say in Lynch on Lynch (emphasis added): "Although I don't really like talking about things, I've got to say this...

Re: Annie in FWWM

The Little Man/Mike/Phillip Gerard (whether they are the same entity or aspects of the same entity or whatnot) are positioned as opponents of Bob in both FWWM and the series. It's pretty much the only consistent trait we can apply to them since their depictions often vary so wildly! Agreed. It wasn...

Annie in FWWM

I've been reading the Episode 29 thread over in the episodes board and a post by Lost in the Movies got me a-ponderin' something. The thread had turned toward the message that Sarah Palmer gives in the diner and whether it was Windom Earle or the Little Man who sent it, and LitM said One thought abo...

Re: Leland's death/Bob

I don't think there's anything to be corrected there. I tend towards the murder scene in the series being an inaccurate representation of what happened, the actual events getting twisted and changed in Ronette's traumatised mind. From what we see of actual event in the movie, Ronette wasn't in any ...

Didn't Earle give it to her when he went to the Hayward's in disguise?

Re: Andy “plank” scene and Philip Jeffries scene

Could Lynch have taken the whole doppelganger thing to another level with the Deer Meadow section? I don't just mean that DM is the dopp of TP, but that it was intentionally supposed to feel like two different movies: the first half is, in some way, the doppelganger of the second half and that they ...

Re: FWWM questions (probably asked before but what the hell)

I've always taken the security camera thing as a warming to Coop about his splitting in two at the end of the series. Sort of "if you insist on going down this path, this is what'll happen" kind of thing. Except who or whatever is warning Cooper is not able to communicate that directly and...

Re: My reading of the end of Fire Walk With Me

The interesting thing about FWWM, that I'm only just starting to realize now, is that Leland's awareness of his own actions does not necessarily mean Leland is aware of Bob. In the train car, for example, I'm positive Leland doesn't see Bob at all, even when he's functioning as "just" Lel...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season Three confirmed for 2016 on Showtime

I really can't believe that this is such a massive issue. For literally decades people have been coming to the show and falling in love with it despite its flaws, which in my opinion are very much overstated and have been so for so long that they have become mythologised, and I really doubt that sud...

Murnau's Nosferatu is my all time fave. The rest of these represent a sample and not a "top [number]" in any way. Frankenstein (1931) To Kill a Mockingbird Manhunter Clueless The Body Snatcher Scrooge (1951) Oliver Twist (1948) Peeping Tom Dracula Prince of Darkness The Vampire Lovers The ...

Re: Bobby Briggs in Season 3...

I'm a little conflicted about what I'd like to see for Bobby. On the one hand, I like the idea of Deputy Bobby as I can totally see him wanting to redress the balance that his killing the Deer Meadow deputy knocked out of kilter. Justice may not have been served in the traditional sense, but he can ...
