Re: Reconciling the ending of FWWM with the ending of The Return
You could argue that both endings leave Laura in a kind of Limbo.

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync
Here's an easy way to watch them synched. They are overlaid, but it works just as well, or maybe better. No one is claiming the entire episode is synced, afaik, just the last 10 minutes through to the very end of this video (the closing credits of 17). As long as this link stays up on youtube, here...

Re: More on The Searchers similarities
I can't really see much here apart from very general similarities. Tentative.tlk wrote:http://theartofmemory.blogspot.ru/2017/ ... -film.html
And this doesn't even mention that Mose Harper was Sr. Droolcup.

The ultimate explanation of the ending (spoilers...really?)
Well, this seems pretty comprehensive...it does take some reading. It also suggests that this is the end of the story:

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"
Try to convince me that it isn't a dream by using in-universe logic. Don't say it can't happen because David Lynch is a genius, because everybody makes mistakes. Boy, gee, did you like, read the first page of this thread? If Richard dreamed up the Chalfront/Tremond connection before encountering it...

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"
I still feel there is some ambiguity. I think generally, most interpretations would consider the story of Twin Peaks as real, but I do think the dream angle is there if you want it to be. I don't see anything wrong with this, and for me it broadens the appeal and the mystery. I've yet to rewatch the...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
At what point did everyone realize that nearly none of the subplots were going to be resolved? For me, I think it was about ten minutes into Part 18. Personally, exactly what you said, but remove the number 8 from your post. I was so mesmerised by what was taking place that I forgot about Ruby, Red...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
It'll take me a while to get through all the comments but my initial impressions were: part 17 - wow! This is clearly the climax to the Mr C story. This is what I was expecting to come in part 18. Will part 18 be the fight with something even worse? Part 18 - hey, where did the rug go? All in all t...

Could someone now explain what the spoiler was that Julee Cruise supposedly posted, please?

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
The finale, for me, was completely satisfying. I foolishly thought (with some trepidation) that we were heading for a conclusive triumph for the robins. What we got was something far more ambiguous and interesting. Now the series feels like a journey through the subconscious....exactly what I want f...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
Where is all this negativity coming from? I wouldn't write off a Season 4 just yet - all can happen. Let's hope for the best. Just pre-ordered the OST, releasing on Sept. 8th. Hopefully a Blu-Ray set will turn up soon as well... Then Shwotime will see, what money can be made ;) I've pre-ordered bot...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
I assume this has already been noted, but when Albert and Tammy begin to fire at Diane....we see one camera shot without Tammy in the frame....just Albert. Then we cut back to Diane and then back to Albert And Tammy (who is suddenly back again). I don't see how this could be an editing mistake. What...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
This is it. The last night we'll ever sit around speculating about "tomorrow night's episode of Twin Peaks". It's been so great, to a level of seeming unreal, and I'm sad facing the fact that it's ending. Reminds me of when I was much younger and had time to read. Getting to the end of a ...

Re: What you want to see in the final two episodes.
The thing I'd most like to see is something to rival the aesthetics of episode 3 or the season 2 finale. Something sensationally Lynchian. It doesn't have to be a showdown in the lodge....that would be a reworking of the original finale, so it's unlikely.
