Inception.
What a snooze-fest.
I'm sure Sarah Palin has more interesting, meaningful, and psychologically rich dreams.

What are some good TV shows to watch?
Twin Peaks (of course) was brilliantly done. American Gothic was also some mighty fine television for its one season. :P LOST had some slack moments, but it did an excellent job of keeping an enormous cast and a complicated plot fresh and interesting for six seasons, and (oh happy day!) unlike my ot...

Re: Let's talk changes: how would you change FWWM?
I really did not like the film. There were a few things that sorta bugged, such as the sets, the hair, the re-casting, the manner of Laura's death, and so forth (and FWIW, I think MK would have made a great Donna and some of the sets would have been better than the originals). I think they retconned...

Re: Twin Peaks Turns 20
I would not be the person I am today without the magic of Twin Peaks.
It was probably the most formative thing I've ever witnessed.

Re: 20 Years of Twin Peaks
I think the time is right for a monster coffee table book. Huge. Introduction and new interview with Lynch. Every known Twin Peaks photo, one per page. All of the scripts. Set blueprints. A selection of before and after location shots by Charles from intwinpeaks.com and a Prop gallery. At the end o...

Audrey Horne,
That ad made me want a lot more than books.

Just for fun: If DL had directed "Blue Hawaii"
I wrote this up for another site about a year ago, and I just reread it and was entirely amused. I hope you all are too. -------------------- A pretty blonde with a bouffant shoots an unseen someone twice. After shooting the person, she breaks down, screaming and crying. She falls in a heap on the f...

You should know that a tuna is a cactus, if you didn't already know.

Re: How would you rank David Lynch's films?
Mulholland Drive-- So perfect, so lush. Blue Velvet Wild at Heart FWWM Lost Highway Eraserhead and at the bottom: Inland Empire. I know there are a lot of IE fans here, and there are the seeds of several very good films here, but I just didn't get into it. The others I haven't seen, or I saw so long...

Re: Explain it to me like I'm 5
If I had the power to go back and tell Mark and David things before the series ever got off the ground, I think introducing Hank in the second season would have been a better move. As I have said elsewhere, one of the weaker points of the declining second season was the lack of real villains. (The R...

Re: Explain it to me like I'm 5
I suppose I assumed that that was in reference to the hit man operation, not the drug-dealing operation.

The announcer at Club Silencio.
(I was taking a page from Cabaret in calling him the MC, since the MC in Cabaret is clearly a death-figure.)

Re: Explain it to me like I'm 5
Hank is the head drug dealer? Say what? I thought the whole drug connection was pretty straightforward with the Renault brothers, Leo, and Bobby. Cooper's BS explanation to Jacques (in one of the best damn scenes ever) notwithstanding. Especially since Hank doesn't seem to be connected to Laura or e...

Explain it to me like I'm 5
What's the deal with Hank? No matter how many times I rewatch the show, I don't get it. Here's what I sort-of-get: Josie had Hank kill Andrew, but Andrew lived, and meanwhile Hank ran over a dude and went to prison for 18 months for that, but Josie gave him 90 thousand after he got out and there was...
