Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

What, like this? BOBBY: What's got you down, baby? SHELLEY: What the fuck do you think, Bobby? I'm in my fucking forties and still fucking work at a fucking diner. When I started the fucking coffee was fifty cents and I was making shit for money. Now coffee is almost three bucks and I still make fu...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

If Watts only worked for about 3 weeks, what was this big deal about having to fly her whole family out for the shoot. And this seems to contradict what certain posters who are no longer in this board have said about her role. You can shoot plenty in three weeks. I still kind of hold a torch for Am...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I'm sure Lynch can do Art like no other - he's proven so time and time again (and I love some - mind you, not all - of his cinematic output). But with this current project, I don't want simply Lynch's art - if I'd want that, I'd be just as content if he was to "publish" various bric-a-bra...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Ever since I heard that Lynch chose the Amira over the Alexa, and saw those first few environmental shots, I've had this suspicious feeling that he was aiming for a documentary style digital look (not that I know much at all about cameras but I heard the Amira's popular among documentary filmmakers)...

Re: Watching Season 3 Around the World

OK, now tv were so useless that I did a little sleuthing of my own and found the following tweet + reply: https://twitter.com/mummaloola/status/859297369317363713 So it looks like overseas suppliers didn't manage to negotiate a deal with showtime to make parts 3&4 available at the same time as ...

Peyton - because he contributed heavily to Albert's sarcasm and he is one of the most important characters in TP. Also the fact that I don't actually really know what Engels wrote.

Re: Brit w/o Blu Ray Player + TV - what to do?

Panda Free Antivirus is good. Very nag free for a modern free AV and keeps itself in the background. In addition I use the built in Windows firewall and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Add those journalistic marvels at WIRED to the list of numbskulls who insist on calling The Return the Reboot. Ugh. -Mordeen My impression is that 'reboot' is just a catch-all term critics/journos use to describe a show that has come back after a long period of hiatus, cancellation. I am not sure w...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

So Showtime finally abandoned the pie and coffee coziness and focused on the show's dark aspects? Well I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Still would have worked better as a trailer for the rerun of the original series (with the new bass note intact) (minus the killer-spoiler, of course)

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

Continuing the show with Lynch & Frost as writers/showrunners possessing an inalienable power of veto and with other directors helming the episodes, with Lynch occasionally stepping in to do a particularly crucial one, should be just fine. I'd definitely be up for that - anything to keep the sh...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I'm not a huge fan of Earle but I agree about the rest. I wouldn't worry too much about Annie... it's so obvious why they can't include her on the cast list. She's the only one that is directly connected to the plot/cliffhanger of the last episode and mentioning her would be a spoiler in itself.

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

For me, turning it into a (rather lame) "clue" cheapens a beautiful Lynch non sequitir. That said, I do agree that Wise's childlike delivery of the line is a thing of beauty. So much of Episode 16 is salvaged for me largely due to Mr. Wise's tremendous talent and brilliant acting choices....

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

I don't think there's any great importance intended with the use of the word "final". I think Mark Frost would be the first to admit that the television episodes are the core of the franchise and his books are supplements. I sense the word final is alluding to the idea that the dossier wa...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Funny how now when it's confirmed it wasn't going to be the title everyone is suddenly daring to speak their mind. Before that it was apparently 'energy-draining' if someone did criticize it. :D
