Just a heads up that Piper has signed cards as both Piper and her real name Rosetta Jacobs!
But not as Fumio Yamaguchi?!

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison

I think part of the problem with the final season is that Lindelof & Cuse felt too much pressure to deal with the mythology end of things, due to the puzzle-box cult that had risen around the show. Really, all that stuff at its best was just a prism through which to explore elements of the chara...

Re: Top of the Lake v.2 compared to TPTR (spoilers)

Yeh, I guess part of it is that I liked Mary a lot thanks to the performance, and really wanted her to be smarter than continually remaining with someone who treated her like garbage. But as you say, that frustration in seeing an otherwise strong, smart woman be manipulated by a sleazy guy into an a...

I’ve freeze framed most of that sequence and never saw that. Screenshot? Or timestamp at least?

Re: Top of the Lake v.2 compared to TPTR (spoilers)

I found TotL:CG much more disappointing than TP:TR. It started off promising—the first couple of episodes had a fantastic sustained mood, and I applaud Campion for doing a completely different, urban thing rather than trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. Most of my issues lie with the script, ...

Re: The Straight Story

Obscure piece of DKL repeat-casting I wasn’t aware of: Apple (the bespectacled hardware store townie) is played by Jack Walsh — who is credited as Raymond Walsh in Eraserhead for playing “Mr. Roundheels,” the Beautiful Girl Across the Hall’s briefly-glimped lover.

Re: Lynch to release memior 'Room To Dream: A Life In Art'.

The audiobook has DKL doing a few semi-impressions when he quotes people, including a charming impression of Jack Nance for the “Get in the stall, horseface” story. His impression of his dad calling him and his brother home at night is also really great. He also reveals a piece of trivia I’d never h...

Re: Season 3, The First Draft - Speculation etc.

I think the content of that article speaks for itself. Unreliable, unsubstantiated, pandering, gross schlock. I also assumed LFB wouldn’t return, but it’s not unreasonable that L/F would reach out. It would be sort of monstrous to continue to hold her accountable for behavior of 25 years ago when sh...

Re: Season 3, The First Draft - Speculation etc.

I don’t think the script to TP:TR will ever leak because the only people who had it were L/F, Nevins and presumably Lynch’s inner circle (Sabrina Sutherland, Cori Glazer). Even Kyle didn’t get to keep a copy. None of those people will ever leak it. It’s a totally different situation from the origin...

Re: Season 3, The First Draft - Speculation etc.

I’m in! ;) I’d be interested to even know how many drafts there were, how many copies of each exist, etc. We know there was at least one full script that Nevins and Kyle saw (which could technically be the 15th draft...we don’t know if L/F bothered to formally label drafts during their many years of...

Re: New Merchandise Roundup (Officially Licensed)

I wouldn’t really call that a retcon, though. If anything, “damn good coffee” is the phrase that was actually said on the show, whereas “damn fine coffee” never was as far as I know (it was “damn fine CUP of coffee”).

Re: New Merchandise Roundup (Officially Licensed)

Showtime has a limited edition shirt available today only. Z1CTSHW1050.jpg So weird, it has been "Damn Fine Coffee!" for decades, this is the strangest retcon yet. I think this was discussed before when someone else said this phrasing was a retcon on another piece of merchandise or promot...
