Re: RANDOM THOUGHTS V -- Natassja Kinski in MTTH

Since Doris is dressed the same and looks to be about the same age, I now would say that the cop-shop scene takes place the same night she stabs Sue. Oh sure, I see her as a character in OHIBT, at least.
What stumps me, is why she has the screwdriver stuck in her own side.

Re: This Is The Street

Goodness, I have a lot above to read before I can put in my 2 cents worth, on this Thread. :) '...Yes, as far as I know David Lynch said that he doesn`t know what exactly IE means. But that doesn`t mean that there isn`t a story behind it somewhere. And human beings like to think in patterns of causa...

Re: MTTH: Buying a watch

MichaelPW , I think that you're right about the woman watching. She , for whatever reason, can not intervene. ( Fear, would be my guess as to what that reason is: we seem to be dealing with criminals here.) Again, I don't see them as zombies, or perhaps hypnotized by The Phantom ( though that would...

Re: North Carolina accent?

I still wonder about the ' Who is she?' girl, herself, the one that question is asked about in old Poland. :) 'There are two versions of her on the street, one laughing at the other.' Not sure I catch that. ** '...And how can it be that a woman who is 20 in 1939 can be 20 in 2006?! Maybe by the help...

Re: RANDOM THOUGHTS V -- Natassja Kinski in MTTH

I think that Doris scene with the cops would likely be near or at the end of OHIBT . I can make little of it. **I love the scene between Kinski and Nikki . I think that the Billy reference unsettles Nikki , who is aware of a persona conflict, due to her immersion in the role of Sue , perhaps before ...

Re: North Carolina accent?

Briefly On-Topic: No one speaks with anything like a N.C. accent in the movie. That accent can best be heard by listening to the winning NASCAR driver explain what a fine car and crew he has ( if you can stand the sound of it.) ** I'd say that marine and his sis stuff is a delusion on the part of a ...

Re: MTTH: Buying a watch

As has probably already been stated, the watch, the telling of time, seem to represent remembering ( accepting, if you will) what has happened. This may be in order to 'move on'. So, the guy selling the watches is the one who enables things to be put in some kind of sequence, like, as Posted on anoth...

Re: MTTH: Buying a watch

New guy, here. Hi, all. *This 'temple' setting seems to me to be just another of the 'McMansions' that litter the actual Inland Empire. This is a party, the 'zombies', stoned party-goers. **She is obviously Polish, but either pretends not to speak her native language or has forgotten it: a 'half', a...
