Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)

Loved that Bobby Briggs scene. Brought it all back home for me Twin Peaks wise... But still, what is up with Lynch falling back into outdated female stereotypes? The wives were shrill and nagging and the younger woman were mostly naked and hypersexualized. Aren't we past this? And Chrysta Bell? Wha...

Re: Parts 1 + 2 (Spoilers)

I generally loved the whole thing. There was a couple of the black lodge scenes where i felt it was a bit too ... literal. I also felt that way, and still do sometimes, about a couple of the scenes in FWWM. The way the black lodge is portrayed in the series is just so masterful and scary. I didn't ...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)

Also—someone in the other thread mentioned how a lot of the imagery felt like it was pulled from Lynch's paintings. Thought the exact same thing, especially with the purple-pink overcast of that scene in EP3

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)

Trying to gather all of my thoughts. - At the end of EP2, I told my partner this was honestly less weird than I thought it was going to be. He (who is less of a TP fan) said it's still pretty fucking weird & difficult, way more so than anything else on TV. After that first scene in the Lodge I f...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)

The first half of EP3 was nuts and kind of off the rails (is that supposed to be Judy???), but that scene and EP4 brought it home for me. I haven't gone back to check the credits myself, but someone on reddit said the woman was played by Phoebe Augustine. Edit: "Phoebe Augustine - American Gir...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)

The scene where Bobby sees Laura's picture and Laura Palmer's Theme swells up is the first time the series felt like "Twin Peaks" to me. That whole scene in the Sheriff's office was complete Peaks. And oh Bobby. It was the same facial expressions he made when crying in Jacoby's office. He...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Just finished my brie & butter baguette—no idea how Ben & Jerry could finish theirs, it was ridiculously rich. Preparing a slice of pie & donuts while watching the end of FWWM—it is happening again!!!! Ive tried various different brands of bries, butters, and baguettes. For the life of ...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Your advice is welcome and wonderful, but I can't cook anything well but meat. So I'm hoping to find a vegan pie somewhere out there in the world today. That's actually what I was asking, I suppose. Can I find a ready made pie somewhere? I guess I should call Trader Joes or Whole Foods... I would b...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Is there such a thing as a vegan cherry pie? My date for the show tonight is a vegan. :| Of course, just replace the butter that's normally in the dough with something else e.g. coconut or canola oil. Edit: Or vegan butter indeed. Some extra low fat margarine's are made with solely sunflower oil. C...

Any canned pie filling should be vegan (just make sure it doesn't have gelatin),you can also make your own with corn sta...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

To all needing a talk-down: we're so close now!!! Remember how the opening credits for the original really sets you in the mood. It will be pure goosebumps and magic to have the new opening credits set you in that same world. I've been distracting myself with smoked fish for lunch & donuts + cof...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I don't do coffee or else I'd have the full trifecta. Going out and buying some donuts tomorrow morning for breakfast then cherry pie for the show. Have some sour cherry beer I might drink but I think I'd like to be fully coherent for the occasion. Same with getting donuts & pie tomorrow! Also ...
