Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18
Anyone else find it strange that Dougie Milford's enlistment form doesn't name a next of kin? The document lists him as married, plus we know he has a brother.

There should've been more interaction between Hank and the Brothers Horne. Those were some of Hank's best scenes. I love the scene where Hank tells Ben he's been muscled out of OEJ's.

Given that Laura is stoned out of her skull when Bobby kills Deputy Cliff, it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't remember that one at all.

So is Dune the dream Cooper had after drinking Pete's fish-laced coffee?

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3
"American Gothic" was a short-lived small-town supernatural thriller with a Southern twist that aired on CBS in the 90's. Produced by Sam Raimi (yes, Bruce Campbell appears in an episode). Kind of hit-or-miss, but it had great atmosphere and awesome performances by Gary Cole and Lucas Blac...

Re: Will the new Twin Peaks make you feel old?
The new Star Wars made me feel old. The new X-Files made me feel old. I fully expect the new Twin Peaks to make me feel old. But like SW and XF, I expect I'll also get that welcome thrill of finally returning to that familiar world I've loved for so many years.

Undoubtedly unintentional, but this made me think of the little wave/salute thing that Jurgen Prochnow does in the room above the convenience store.

Not so much a controversial opinion as a shameful confession: I laugh out loud every time I see Little Nicky send Andy spinning off his stool at the RR. Every. Time.

Re: Twin Peaks' Influence and Effect on The Rest of the Worl
I'm no TV historian, but it definitely seems to me that TP was one of the earliest examples of "Auteur Television", where the show is predominantly driven by the creative vision of one or two individuals (the only earlier example I can think of is The Twilight Zone). So I think you can add...

Wasn't the drawer-pull thing Lynch's idea? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Re: The Unorthodox/Controversial TP Opinion Thread
I wasn't a huge fan of Denise when the show first aired. I felt she was yet another example of the forced "weirdness" of mid-Season Two, but over the years I've really come to appreciate the character and now consider her one of the highlights of that period of the show. Sure, they make a ...

Re: The Unorthodox/Controversial TP Opinion Thread
My controversial TP opinion is...Major Briggs isn't all that interesting. I like him in small doses as Bobby's straight-arrow father, but some of that Season Two post-Palmer stuff has me rolling my eyes. I kind of root for Windom Earle when he's got the Major tied up. Are you a fan of the iconic &q...

I had a similar anxiety-ridden dream about Season 3. The big premiere finally happened...and the show was awful. Cooper was literally running around wearing a cheap rubber BOB mask.
