Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact
I don't think anyone in the thread has mentioned that the shot of Laura talking to James and then screaming (at Cooper, though we don't know it yet) is in FWWM. This strongly suggests that everything we see in Pt17 *already happened* in the timeline from the film. Cooper was always there, Laura alwa...

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)
Inland Empire was a critical success. http://www.metacritic.com/movie/inland-empire It also grossed $4 million worldwide. ... which is nothing and makes it the 239th most successful film of 2006. How many of those 238 films cost as little as Inland Empire? And the critical point is important as wel...

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)
What in the world happened to him in that decade between IE and now? He started reading the daily newspaper. Nah, he just started talking to Mark Frost more frequently. Which, if you've seen his Twitter feed, is the same as reading the paper. I'm being glib, but I really do think there's a lot more...

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)
The ending erased all previous episodes. I didn't see any evidence in Part 18 that anything from Season 1+Season 2+FWWM was erased. The way the show is written, Agent Cooper's journey appears to have taken him across two separate timelines, both of which are equally important. I suppose you could p...

Re: Lost in the Movies on Twin Peaks: The Return
Thanks everyone for reading these, and for the positive feedback! My work on The Return is definitely only just beginning. The videos of course, but I'm also inclined to relaunch the entire character series w/ all the characters from The Return (and rewriting those who appeared in both series) beca...

Re: Connection between TP:TR and Neon Genesis Evangelion (spoilers for both)
Yes! And Part 8 in general had a very End of Evangelion feel. By the way, I made a video comparing the two works here: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=gGLWNVG9e3Q Actually it was your TP/Evangelion video that inspired me to re-watch Evangelion recently! It's funny, episodes 17-18 of T...

Re: Lost in the Movies on Twin Peaks: The Return
Excellent write-up on Parts 17 and 18, Joel. We have similar interpretations about Cooper and what transpired in the end. I am so tremendously relieved. I was watching Part 17 with total dread, horrified by some of the choices made by Frost and Lynch. I am inclined to say that Part 18 was brilliant...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
So was Laura's death undone in the original timeline? Or did that not really take? Same question. I think a lot of people assumed her existence was undone altogether. It does seem odd to spend that much time dwelling on the alternate reality of her not being dead only to then say "but then she...
