Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

Still no obvious mechanism by which the return of the GN room key becomes common knowledge. Ben took proper notice of it when it arrived, but has apparently been distracted by his grandson's rampage. Expect him to reach out to Frank Truman about it eventually--though maybe it was just a tease? I th...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

As for channeling past performances I have to hand it to the Mitchums for reproducing the old Ben & Jerry Horne schtick while giving it their own spin. They won me over last episode, and now I look forward to their appearances~ Belushi in particular is great. I love what Lynch has done with him...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

I'm pretty sure when the real Cooper returns, it's going to be the final moment of the last episode. I disagree -- but that doesn't mean the people who are obsessing on it shouldn't take a breather and be patient! The Twin Peaks-centered story is finally starting to pick up real momentum. It's almo...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

so the gunshot and the kid throwing up in the car - these are all signs evil is either coming or existing in twin peaks. Those and the 911 switchboard scene. 2 days left, getting close to a time opening, its affecting the area. There was nothing supernatural about that moment at all. Six gunshots w...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

The idea that the Hawk phone conversation with Margaret at Glastonbury Grove, shown way way way back in Episode 1, is going to ultimately be revealed to take place after everything else that happens in the entire series also baffles me. On one of the previous episode's threads, I said I hoped when ...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

A friend of mine thinks Candie is Laura Palmer... acts very clueless like Dougie... hmm... I had exactly the same thought! It will be very interesting to see how Candie and Dougie interact with each other. So far both characters primarily react/respond only when addressed by other characters. I don...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)

I'm wondering if the puking person is on Sparkle. That looked like a small girl That moment might have been the most mystifying of the entire episode for me. (And the most unsettling.) Unsure whether it even meaningfully connects to the rest of the story - but if so, my guess is you're right. The k...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return

& lots of people keep saying it's reckless and unjustifiable to show violence against women unless there is a "payoff". Huh? That's no different then saying you can't tell a scary story unless there is a happy ending. This is demented! Exactly! And to think that Dustoff is talking abo...

Re: When do you think will "Dougie" snap back to being Cooper? (Spoilers)

Originally, I thought it would be when Ike the Spike attacked, but I said at the time that if it DIDN'T happen then, all bets were off. Part of me thinks we're bound to have several hours of Dale in Twin Peaks before the end, but I'm enjoying watching this so much, I'm trying to just let go of expec...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return

Of the new female characters we've seen, five have already been killed off (Tracy, Daria, Phyllis, Lorraine, Miriam - did I leave anyone out?). It feels like their only purpose in the storyline is to get killed off and advance the narrative (Mr. Reindeer had a great post on the other thread that we...

Re: Lynch, Frost and women

My personal belief is that all human beings deserve fair and equal treatment, regardless of differences in race, gender, or sexuality. I also tend to think this is the mindset of nearly everyone participating in the discussion of this show. With that being said, these beliefs don't preclude someone...

Re: Lynch, Frost and women

I was of the mind that folks might be getting too wound up about its treatment of women as compared to the rest of the series. But after reading the frankly sickening responses in the other topic, I'm not sure. If people can watch David Lynch's work and still come away with the mindset that "P...
