Re: Japanese Thing
Yes, this is the Japanese DVD Boxset... it's been around for a while. It holds the DVDs when they used to come in a CD-like jewel case. I believe it has Eraserhead, Elephant Man, Dune, Blue Velvet and.... I think that's it/ All before the special editions of these. Save your money unless you want th...

Re: David Lynch Decoded book
I am very tempted to get this book but know nothing of Lacean film theory. Where do they teach that... def. not at my school Art Center College of Design. We just made things... not much theorizing. ***edit*** Sorry I was referring to the book "The Impossible David Lynch". Gosh... too many...

Re: ABSURDA, a new short film by David Lynch.
Sorry.. thought I had replied here but it was on the Coen Bros. forum. Got the 2DVD and I was... disappointed. It has the Lynch shorton the 2nd Disc but no Coen Brothers short. I'm sure the Lynch short will appear somewhere in a future DVD release. So I returned the 2DVD back to "gay Pareeee......

Re: Eraserhead OST
Have you listened to the soundtracks?
30 seconds of industrial sounds repeating with slight variances. Can easily edit that and not know the difference (I did it myself in Final Cut). Maybe the original had a loop in it or something to make it longer. Guess we'll never know...

Re: Lost Highway US DVD Now Available
Have you read the discussion here? I don't think it's as obvious as DVDBeaver wants us to think. Some of the images look nothing like how I remember it from the cinema. Yes, I have. Maybe it depends on your cinema and screen at home. For me, I saw it at the Laemmle where the Virgin Megastore used t...

Re: Screening for students / Aussie accent?
Yeah never noticed that either...having been to Australia several times and having a bunch of friends from there I thought I would have picked up on that. I have to watch it again...not difficult as this is my personal favorite Lynch film. I just love the atmosphere he creates. Especially that scene...

Re: Fanedits?
I'll definitely check out the fan-edit. Many times they are better than the original (Star Wars Episode 1 anyone?).
Have you seen the great trailers fans have done for Blue Velvet and The Shining that makes them comedies (available on YouTube I think).

I have the MK2/Cinema Club version and I have to tell you it is amazing! Had to get one of those DVD players that play all regions of course... Re: Fanedits?
Annie, I agree with you. The books are really so much better that these films will always pale in comparison. That being said, I do agree with Evenreven--I don't think the real issue with David is necessarily the final cut of Dune but the film itself. You could cut Dune 7 ways 'til Sunday (or whatev...

Re: Lynch Gucci Ad
Great Ad... gave me that Lost Highway feeling... David was referring to product placement in feature films... don't get the two confused. An ad is the product. Taking his words out of context is not fair... I saw someone mention that he was using the Sony PD 170 mini HD camera for the handheld shots...

Re: ABSURDA, a new short film by David Lynch.
I ordered this 2DVD set and it has already been shipped. It says 34 shorts which would be both Lynch's short as well as the Coen Bros. so we'll see soon enough...
