Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?

You may well be right about international numbers. Did the Blu Ray sell well, though? A quick glimpse at this site seems like it only cracked the top 20 for one week (again, maybe it sold better overseas?). In the US, CBS completely screwed the pooch on the rollout, with way too few units produced....

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Yes the footage they made in the Palmer house and around the town was prior to that contact between Showtime and the Palmer house owner. That cast included the daughter of the owner 'Mrs Tremond' and there seems to have been some reluctance to be involved anymore after Showtime had their say in matt...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

I don't think Lynch/Frost will ever let anyone who isn't them touch the property again, and that's fine. Since they're so possessive of their franchise (and I'm not denying them their right to be that way), it's really weird how they - and Showtime - apparently don't have any problems with certain ...

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

The summer of 2017 was The Summer of Twin Peaks. I will never forget it. Yep. I agree with this 100%. And I say this as someone in the fairly disappointed camp. Season 3 had some of the most incredible moments of television/film I've ever seen. There are parts of it that will definitely stay with m...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

I think the odds for another season of TP is close to zero. It's wrapped up. Also, I don't see any profound similarity between the major themes of IE and TPS3. In a way IE is much like Eraserhead; a very personal movie and a spiritual one on top of that. When Lynch finished IE at last, the first th...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

There is no way a further season would be at all like season 3 and that hazy and dream-like. I am certain that they know they need a very strong plotline this time. Something on a par with 'Who Killed Laura Palmer?' The missing diary page must feature in that too! If you believe a new season will b...

Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?

I think it's unlikely. Not only did Lynch seem sort of definitive at the Emmy event a few weeks ago that this was "the ending," but I also got the sense (he didn't say this outright, I'm just inferring) that it would be hard for him to see going back into this world without Miguel Ferrer,...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Hey everybody. I've been gone from here for a few months, but lurked occasionally. It's taken a long while to digest Season 3. To be honest, I'm still chewing. But I'm happy to be back. Back and ready! I believe Lynch/Frost are writing Season 4 right now. The offer is there from Showtime, and I thi...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Would a S4 happen, I'm pretty sure they would want to incorporate at least some throwbacks to the originals, since they obviously like to keep things intertwined all the way throughout. A list of people, places and things from the originals that remained (mostly) untouched during S3 which could be ...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Even if a Season 4 were to air some day, the storyline wouldn't feel forced as they have lots of plot points from all the 3 seasons To me the plot does not matter in terms of how natural a Twin Peaks continuation feels. Season 3 you could say has a 'forced' element to it, in coming back after 25 ye...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Having Dougie back in any form would finish off Twin Peaks for good. That character fulfilled its role.

BOB is obviously not dead - you can't kill BOB, just rid of him for a while.

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

I think that the likelihood is further Twin Peaks would be nothing like season 3. I see The Return as pretty much a self-contained work. Speaking broadly, I don't get at all a 'happy' mood from s3 and its desolate, as if the Black Lodge has infiltrated daily life in Twin Peaks. Coupled with the idea...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Impressive theory! So the series will end with Coop pulling Laura alive from the water outside the Martell's house? ;) This was posted a day later by Gabriel in response to mtsi's theory that "this season is basically the first 2 seasons in reverse. We start with (figuratively) episode 29 and ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Yeah, during it's run sheer probability dictates that there will be moments, story arcs that will get your attention and get you intrigued if you stick around. One thing that is POSSIBLE, and could instill hope in those disillusioned so far, is Coop returning to his old self, the FBI agent somewhat...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

How is the publicity more relevant than the content of the actual series? In which episode did he say the exact phrase "damn fine coffee"? I would suggest the two most memorable quotes are "This is-- excuse me--a damn fine cup of coffee" and "Damn good coffee - and hot!&quo...
