Re: Music From The New Series
Did they put the wrong performance Threnody To The Victims Of Hiroshima on the soundtrack? While I know Lynch rearranged it for part 8, it sounds like an entirely different performance. Isn't this the correct performance? http://www.witoldrowicki.com/en/audio/17.html Somebody messed-up big time, th...

Re: Music From The New Series
I just got my series soundtrack, runout etchings indicating the pressing plant are absent. It's there for the European ones though which were made at Optimal Media GmbH. About to listen to it, but I got sneaking suspicion these are more Rainbo copies and they were told to leave out those identifiers...

Re: The deceased dugpa spoiler thread's partial mirror
Just rewatched Part 5. Something weird to me: how did Arbo know Buenos Aires was canon? All we got of Buenos Aires was an establishing shot (presumably stock footage like the Vegas and NYC establishing shots) and an interior of a warehouse-type place that could have taken place anywhere without con...

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17
Recently Criterion have released single disc - but dual layer, blu rays for long films. One example is "Barry Lyndon". Let's hope that will be the case here as well. I think you mean double-disc releases and not single; Barry Lyndon is a double-disc release with the movie on a single doub...

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17
They are the same transfer, but different encodes. Criterion's, despite being crammed with the extras, is slightly larger in size with a healthier bitrate. Don't take DVDbeaver's screencaps as gospel but it appears there are some nasty compression artifacts on the CBS disc. This is the opposite of ...

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17
Is Criterion using the CBS transfer? These look identical to me. 900__twin_peaks_fire_walk__CI-180720212830617942_blu-ray__.jpg 900__twin_peaks_fire_walk__CI-78486212830617942_blu-ray__.jpg 900__twin_peaks_fire_walk__CI-38841942430617943_blu-ray__.jpg 900__twin_peaks_fire_walk__CI-13217940163061794...

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17
Lil word of caution about this release: Criterion's had compression problems with some of their titles the past 3 years, Mulholland Drive being one of them. (Macroblocking artifacts abound) They're cramming the movie, deleted scenes, and extras from the 10th boxset disc onto one disc. Could be look...

Yes it does still exist. A lil extra fourth wall breaking proof; it exists cuz we make it exist everytime we watch it.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray
BTW, there's an excellent chance "The Third Season" was chosen by CBS Home Entertainment for marketing purposes and is also not an official title a la The Return. So I wouldn't do any victory laps over that either. It's seems to me they worded it that way to keep it in theme with the past...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
If Lynch/Frost want to do it then so it shall be. I've seen some people literally "protesting" for another season and personally I find that to be a bit mean-spirited. "I loved this, now give me more! Right! NOW!" ehh idk There comes a point when wanting more just to have it is b...

Re: TP Season 1 & FWWM soundtracks set for new vinyl reissues
how does the sound quality of these new reissues compare to the original Warner Brothers releases? i just received the 2017 European reissue from WB/Rhino that has all the original artwork and the "In a town like Twin Peaks no one is innocent" slipcase. it looks beautiful and is to me mor...

Re: Music From The New Series
i wonder if Lynch decided to do that on the basis of budget? i know, i know, the VFX and all that was not about budget but we have to realize that all series and films do have budget constraints and cutting back on costs to realize a true vision is a must.. It's as obvious a stylistic choice as the...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
For months I was fooled - I thought Lynch would go for the ultimate happy ending, have Laura resurrected because he could. Instead he did the Monkey's Paw with Dale. (And as I've always said, he was wrong about the ring in FWWM IMO. I've been telling people that for years - Cooper didn't know what ...
