Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
My statement was in response to Reindeer's thoughts about Cooper, and wasn't meant to refute any one of Cappy's possibilities, but to tie in with some of them. I don't group Leland or Cooper together either, but I believe that both - via so much time spent seemingly frozen in the lodge and the evid...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
I think Cooper looks for the best in everyone (as evidenced by his “Dougie” side), and sometimes that attitude can lead to poor judgment calls. Remember how forgiving he is of Leland in E16 (the Tibetan Book of the Dead scene). I don’t think there’s anything sinister about him following Leland’s age...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
I'm still not sure if Leland Palmer's request to Cooper to "Find Laura" is: a) a sincere act on the part of remorseful (good?) Leland, the one who went to the light and saw Laura as he died in S2E16, whose intent is to save Laura from whatever is happening to her in S3. b) a deceitful act...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets
Does anyone know for sure if this collection is region locked or is it like the s3 box set and region free? Amazon lists s3 as region locked, but it works here in Australia on an Australian region locked player My understanding (and my experience) is that Blu Rays always tend to be region-free (i.e...

Re: Tarantino criticism
Agree with most of what LateReg wrote. Just wanted to respond to a couple of things. There's a reason Sharon Tate barely has any lines in the film, and symbolically it's probably pretty similar to the reason that Laura Palmer is an orb sent to earth. And for the same reason Ontkean has no lines in T...

No mystery whatsoever about MJA, but the ambiguous statement about Frost is mildly odd. Maybe he just wasn’t a priority and they never reached out?

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A & The Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15 & 12/10
I wonder if this will essentially be a repackaging for the already released stuff, or if they'll have new menus and maybe even reordering of contents? My guess is same discs repackaged. I kind of hope that is the case. Every time there’s a new release, some previously available feature gets left off.

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A & The Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15 & 12/10
What the heck is that graphic, Jerry?! It has the (now known to be inaccurate) “Television Collection” title, and says DVD even thought this is Blu Ray only. Is that maybe a companion release minus the new features (and FWWM)?

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A & The Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15 & 12/10
Well, fine. Take my money, Lynch. The additional Jason S. footage, broken down by Part, sounds incredible. Wasn’t “Behind the Red Curtain” already the title of the Beymer doc, though? Is it safe to assume that the first people to preorder are guaranteed a copy, since it’s a limited edition? Not sure...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
There are also Roadhouse numbers that are just inserted in the middle of Parts, like NIN or “Green Onions”/sweeping. If you were watching the whole thing straight through, you wouldn’t know the difference between the ones that were credit scenes and the ones that weren’t. In that sense, I think they...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
I mean, it used to be fairly common for long movies to have intermissions. Music would play during the intermission, and home video releases generally treat that as a part of the film. I view the TP musical sequences as being similar: they can be seen as bookends of episodes (which they surely are),...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19
It’s certainly fair to say that some films where the directors were initially unable to fully realize their vision merit, even demand, director’s cuts, and Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now are two examples. I agree that the recut versions of both films surpass the theatrical cuts. Dune would be anoth...
