Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think Billy is just meant to be a throwback to Billy Zane, just like her dance.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Any hope for a very smart and unexpected resolution that would blow me away and transform my 15 hours of boredom, irritation and frankly: cringe into solid gold after all definitely out the window.. the use of the old music felt tacked on and a joke. Can't stand Eddie Vedder and why did he have some...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Forgot to list to my list of complaints: the awful cgi, which to me isn't arty or quirky but more reminiscent of Alien 3, the Sarah scene in the bar for example.

As for recasting Bowie, why not simply use this guy:

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Well maybe egotism is a better term, like for example i think epi 14 started with a close-up of David Lynch and ended with a scene with his wife; and then also had a dreamsequence with David Lynch and Monica Belushi where they nodded at his art exhibition in Paris, etc. Forget to mention in my list ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If you have a story in which stuff happens and it’s interesting—but there’s no character arc—that doesn’t mean you might not still have a rip-roaringly grand tale on your hands (...) In the original Twin Peaks, we did not see a lot of character development either (...) So I think what a lot of you ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Every episode feels like a sketch show, like the muppet show with special guests or something, in this case special guests who have cancelled at the last minute (zz top).

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It was all Nadine's fault all along! Because she was so manipulative!! But now because of dr. Amp she finally sees what a big shit she's been and she can start shoveling out! And Big Ed can finally ask Norma to marry him, because Nadine kept her waiting for 25 years also!!! So moving!!! So touching!...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think in general a risk for very talented people, or maybe better to say: people who are tapped into something, where one happy accident after the other happens, for that to be possible they really have to rely and trust on themselves and have the freedom to do so, and as long as they're tapped in...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Yes, I'm aware of all that. But regardless of how MD came to be what it came to be, it still is a template through which many people view other Lynch films. It makes Lost Highway easier to grasp, and provides a map for interpreting (however wrongly, most likely) INLAND EMPIRE. So I understand the d...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think the producer even stated that you can't properly appreciate or understand TP:TR until the year 2075 at the very least, when a very secret safebox will be opened with papers explaining exactly what TP:TR was all about. So please guys, until that wonderful time: silencio!

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Idk I guess i had wanted and expected some more gravitas beforehand but on the other hand I appreciate how The Return so abandonedly takes itself not serious, especially when contrasted to the seriousness of some of its biggest fans, combing over codes and glitches and now expected to make sense of ...
