Re: New David Lynch DVD Box - the Lime Green Set
I think Ruth Roses and the Revolver might be on the mystery disc.

Re: New David Lynch DVD Box - the Lime Green Set
I'd kill to have Ruth, Roses and Revolver on DVD. In 1994 I wrote an essay on the influence of art in David Lynch's films for college and Channel 4 sent me a VHS tape, which my art teacher subsequently stole.neverwakingworld wrote:I think Ruth Roses and the Revolver might be on the mystery disc.

Re: Pre-Order the New David Lynch DVD Box - the Lime Green Set
Right, so I'm at that point where I really need to decide whether or not to order... So some stuff is going through my mind...
1) Does anyone know about the Industrial Symphony DVD? Is it just going to be the TV show that was broadcast "as is" (with the Laura Dern and Nicolas Cage intro) or could it be a re-edited/remastered version for the DVD? Is it just going to have a stereo track (5.1 wasn't happening on TV then) or are there going to be surround tracks? Some Julee Cruise-related extras, like an interview, would be nice, but it would probably have been mentioned, wouldn't it? (perheaps something from the Twin Peaks Gold Box interviews? they kept the TP-related bits there, but there could be more interesting off-topics things discussed then that would fit here).
2) I am also wondering if the Eraserhead DVD will be the film without the extras that were on the so-called 2000 version, which would supposedly mean that all the disc space would be used for the film, hence undergo less compression. Note, that I am myself not complaining about this compression: I personally find the "2000" version near-perfect and always thought the next time I'd buy this film would only be for a Blu-Ray upgrade.
Oh, and I just have to complain about the cover... I mean, look at the Lynch(One) promo flyers going on: some of those Lynch portraits are amazing... here it just looks like the camera shot by accident while Lynch was cleaning the lense. Is it a slef-portrait at least? I guess knowing that would help me find it acceptable.

According to Absurda, Industrial Symphony will be remastered. I asked if it would have a new 5.1 mix but did not get an answer.

Yeah, I have a DVD made from a VHS copy. Great stuff. If you want the pristine version of the shorts you can get the DVD from Amazon UK and it's called....
"Dreams That Money Can Buy" (Hans Richter, etc.)
This was the original and then the documentary with David Lynch came later basically re-introducing this collection of shorts.
Re: Pre-Order the New David Lynch DVD Box - the Lime Green Set
Price just jumped to 161.99. Luckily I locked in the old price with Amazon. If anyone knows anywhere it is still available for a lower price let me know and I'll post it on the main site.
