"It's a Beautiful World" new film by Richard Beymer on Lynch

Postby Jerry Horne » Tue Sep 17, 2013 10:50 am

I've been fortunate enough to have been sent an advance cut of Richard Beymer's new film on David Lynch in India titled "It's a Beautiful World". Produced by Rob Wilson (of 'TP 20')

Richard is selecting some screen grabs and I hope to put those up later today.

Let me be perfectly clear. This is the finest documentary featuring David Lynch I've ever seen.

Will it be showing anywhere in the US? Why was it filmed in India, because of meditation?

It was filmed in India because one of the main components of the film is Lynch retracing the steps of an early Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

I don't know when or how it will be shown. I'm being sent a final cut soon and should have a review up soon as well. As soon as I hear something, I'll post it here. Also, maybe Rob will jump in at some point and let us know the release details.

Thanks for everyone's interest in Richard's film! We've been working on it steadily since 2010 and through many twists and turns, we're really happy with how it's turned out. We're still working out the kinks in how it would be distributed, but want people worldwide to be able to see it at the same time. We're leaning toward Video On Demand and website where it could either rented/streamed or downloaded in HD. What do you guys think? Our intention is to release it before the end of the year and we're hoping for November. Lastly, Richard is planning on including a bonus short film he shot while attending the Twin Peaks Fest-- it's fun and (since Richard's POV is our POV in the film) it gives you an idea what it must be like to be a guest.

Also, we've stopped making Richard's photos available but may do a 7-day last hurrah to coincide with the release of the film for the remaining photos/editions which aren't sold out.

More info as we have it... And thanks again for everything.

Looking forward to it!

Remind me... when did Richard attend a festival? Was it a recent one? For some reason, I thought he was one of the cast members who never did a fest.

I believe this film was shot at the 2002 Fest.

Ah, i've seen this before. It is a great video, very funny. It's been a long time since i saw it, but i distinctly remember the part where he is talking to cast members and atendees outside the screening (which if memory serves was Eraserhead), including the Gazette's 12rainbow (Angel) who was working the booth.

Really looking forward to this documentary!
