The scarecrow press site seems to have been down all day, tried buying from amazon, but they're showing a projected dispatch date in november

Very strange. I have had several people tell me that Amazon has dispatched copies to them this weekend. Maybe like the Season 2 CD the initial quantities were limited. Barnes and Noble stores have October 5th as the release date. I even have a friend of mine that works at the Santa Monica B&N and he confirmed for me the October 5th date.

i ordered the book last weekend from amazon and it arrived yesterday. and as chicago is not known for its speedy postal service, for those that have ordered the book, i wouldnt worry. it should get to you pretty quickly. and yes, it is as good as dugpa says. and then some. unfortunately, when i tried ordering from the conglomerate book stores in the area, even a couple independant ones, no one could find it in their systems, even tho it was coming up on their web sites. so my best advice is either order directly from the publisher, or amazon. they seem to be the most reliable places right now.

dugpa-did you notice any typographical errors in your copy?
i could care less about them, but im a quarter of the way in, and ive noticed a few misspellings or the wrong name used a couple of times. but thats what first editions are about!
just wanted to see if you noticed the same.

i was kinda skipping around (i couldnt help it) , while still reading chronologically from the start, and in the section on IE at the end(which is great btw), theres a couple parts that mistake characters names, devon and billy if i remember correctly.

Wow. What can I say. I got mine last weekend and have finally finished it all the way through. Dugpa, you review was right on! This is probably one of the best books I have read EVER! Thanks for the excellent recommendation!

Each day my hopes are smashed upon checking the mail.
I preordered this from amazon in August, but they tell me it will not ship until mid November. What an injustice this cruel cruel world has bestowed upon me. Is there no pre-order hierarchy? Those that preorder last recieve first?

I just received my book today for 48$ delivered in the UK.

Yay, I finally was able to buy this book! I was trying to hold out for paperback, but couldn't wait. So far, looks wonderful. And did you guys know that dugpa is in the acknowledgements?? Go B!!!

Interesting. I didn't even know this. I received a galley copy which is basically the book on printed paper, unbound. I sent Greg some initial feedback and a bunch of notes early on as I was reading it.

I still need to purchase a proper copy however most of the stores in my area ask to special order it, so I will probably get a proper copy from amazon shortly.
