Still praying for the full "Dark Mood Woods!" That's totally a track from Lynch's work on the show and FWWM (and it's the theme for ALL the Log Lady intros, which he did), so I feel like this is a likely candidate, hopefully? I also really love the music from Leland's wake, but somehow I feel like this one is a little less likely...
I was hoping for "Dark Mood Woods" on sunday (Easter)- I thought it was a good tie-in since the Miss TP episode took place on Easter (well... not on the show, but in TP's time-line). And hopefully we'll at least get the alt version of "Audrey's Prayer" from Audrey's goodbye to Coop- its used as part of the mix from Leland's wake. I think the wake scene uses it mixed with other elements. Not sure if it exists that way in the archives, or if they'd have to recreate it.
I think that Leland's Wake is basicaly background of Audrey Says Goodbye version without solo in some parts. I'd love to have it as one long track (without percussion used in Leland's Wake). I don't believe there is "full version" of this. I think that they have two cues: solo and background music, combined into one (with added percussion solo) while scoring episode.
Ah, thanks guys. Methinks you are indeed correct. (Love geeking out on this stuff, though!)

Spurred by the excitement generated by the Twin Peaks Archive in recent weeks, I think I'm finally going to do a definitive, episode-by-episode listing of original Badalamenti music and post it here when I'm done.

It was bothering me like crazy what episode or moment that I most recall Love Theme (Alternate Version) being used in, and I finally remembered:

Episode 12, when Donna tells the story of when she and Laura went skinny dipping with the three older guys, and the that scene transitions to the next, with Donna's cigarette ash falling to the floor seguing into a shot of the Douglas firs blowing in the wind.
I was also trying to recall exactly where in the series I remember it being used. Isn't it also used at the end of episode 4 when Josie gets a phone call from Hank Jennings in jail ("catch ya later")?

Any chance of a version of your WONDERFUL artwork on the Cherubini track from the Train Car?

Not yet released.
People have said that this is actually an instrumental version of Julee Cruise's "The Swan". Its so short & muted that its hard to tell.
I have little doubt that it's 'The Swan'.
I think you're right, Jerry. I actually like it better as an instrumental. Its the only track on "Into the Night" that I was never too fond of.

You should definitely check out "Into The Night" as all of the music is by Badalamenti & many musicians who worked on TP. Five of the ten tracks were featured on TP (three of which are also on the original soundtrack), plus "Mysteries Of Love" from Blue Velvet. There are three other great tracks that could easily have fit into TP, plus "The Swan" which we now know also has a TP connection. "I Float Alone" especially has a very Twin Peaks feel to it.

The second album- also by Badalamenti, is worth getting too, even if its not as strong as the first. In addition to "Questions..." from FWWM it also features really great vocal versions of the FWWM theme and "The Voice Of Love"- two essential tracks for TP fans.

I cannot express in words how much I love Floating Into the Night. It is one of my favorite albums of all time. Absolutely beautiful from start to finish, and really gives you that Twin Peaks feeling throughout.

"Floating Into the Night" and "The Voice of Love". Perfection, especialy first album. Those albums ARE Twin Peaks to me. It just depends which songs they would decide to choose for TV show.
From 2nd soundtrack there are also some songs in instrumental version in TP movie.
All lyrics are also by Lynch and music by Badalamenti.
You MUST have those 2 albums.

Guy Quenneville wrote:I, too, do have the slight suspicion that the music releases (so far, anyway) are specifically tied to the episodes, characters and themes that Lynch had a strong hand in.
Another thought that just dawned on me as far as the music selections released on DL.com so far...

DL.com is only authorized to sell music from the Season 2 soundtrack right now. For many people (especially casual fans), the stuff they want (and remember best) is the music from the 1990 TP soundtrack (Main Theme, Laura Palmer Theme, Love Theme, Audrey's Dance, etc.)

So in that respect, it makes sense that so many of these early releases in the TP Archive consist of alternate versions to the popular themes that DL.com isn't authorized to sell. I bet alternate versions of "Dance of the Dream Man" and "Audrey's Dance" are around the corner.

Thanks! That is truly beautiful. Much appreciated.

One more and my collection would be complete. How about one for Pennsylvania 6-5000? I know I am getting pushy, but your artwork looks awesome on my tv!
