Twin Peaks Inspired Music
I'm not sure if this has been done, but I know of a few songs that have songs (or whole albums even) (music videos too) based on or inspired by Twin Peaks. I thought it would be cool to compile them here in this thread.
I'll start with:
I have a feeling though this thread won't go so well

Re: Twin Peaks Inspired Music
I know there are lots of very different musicians here in Finland that have cited Lynch and Twin Peaks as their influences throughout the years. TP was pretty big here and it clearly affected to whole generation of bleedinghearts (me being one of them ). Nightwish's Tuomas Holopainen has mentioned it and also they had the song Slow Love Slow on their last Imaginaerum album. It has lots of TP vibe but of course the album itself is a theme album and has nothing to do with TP. Then there is also Anthrax's Black Lodge which is an intentional hommage. It even has Angelo Badalamenti doing the strings.
Then there's bands like Bohren & der Club of Gore that have very clear TP influences.

There's also Amanda Palmer's Album, "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" but as I posted in another thread, Phil Elverum's current project Mount Eerie has evolved quite a bit, but a more recent album "Winds Poem" was directly inspired by Twin Peaks. He's from the same area where it was filmed too.
The homage is very obvious:

Apoptygma Berzerk's "Moment of Tranquility":
Moby's "Go" of course:
Trailer Trash Tracys' "Candy Girl":
Actually, pretty much everything by the Trailer Trash Tracys sounds a bit Twin Peaks-y, ditto Still Corners:

And here's a variation of "Laura Palmer" by Bastille from their mixtape-thing "Other People's Heartache Part 1" where "Falling" is heavily sampled:

Re: Twin Peaks Inspired Music
Hi folks!
This is my first post, I found this forum, lurked for about a week and finally gave in. Another community, oh sheesh... There goes my spare time.
Here's an (instrumental) EP I wrote and recorded about a year ago. I'm posting this beccause it's heavily inspired by Lynch/Peaks, Earth (the band from Seattle) and all things nocturnal. I chose to only work on it during the night...
https://soundcloud.com/johnsadie/sets/m ... eletons-ep
Turned out really slow, dark and lo-fi. Did everything by myself, music and artwork.
Enjoy!
That said, I'd love to get some feedback.

There is a familiar line of dialog at 3:59.
Hear this track live earlier this year and yelled it out as loud as I could. I think I was one of the only people excited to hear this song (and this sample), as most just wanted to hear a collection of their '90s hits.

Re: Twin Peaks Inspired Music
EDIT: Despite some thorough searches a while back, l've just discovered this band today (without really even trying?!), and l'm sure they are the right band, two women called "Twin Peaks": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgcdiiFf-mw
I recall the woman singing, she wore a red dress in the video for the song l'm after. She looks like the woman in the video l saw all that time ago. She doesn't have an Irish surname but the band are indeed from British Columbia. So ... l'm still searching for the exact song, and l'm certain it's by this band - l'll let you know if and when l find it.
I'm not really crazy about the song but the video was naturally funny, rather than a cliche by a maintstream band and deserves a place on this thread.
EDIT #2: Nope, l can't find that song, but l'm pretty sure it is the band in the youtube link l have, above.
Hi there,
I'm trying to trace a song by a Canadian band.
The lead singer was a 20-30something woman with black / dark brown hair, a bit like Audrey Horne but with long straight hair. More like Alanis Morrisette in the early 90s actually.
I'm quite sure the lead singer had an Irish surname, but l can't recall. I think she lived in British Columbia, possibly Vancouver, but l can't recall for sure.
They had a song out on YouTube that l chanced upon about 1 year ago, it was hilarious but l didn't bookmark it. It had iconic scenes from Twin Peaks woven into the band's own hilarious narrative. One memorable scene was Doppelganger Laura (played by the female lead singer) screaming and giving chase, but then she suddenly starts dancing on the spot, no leg movements, just hips gyrating, because she's really feeling the music.
Any clues as to the band?
