I didn't get notified but found out mine shipped yesterday through the My USPS dashboard. Used priority mail instead of media which is cool, on track for delivery tomorrow! Fingers crossed it's fine like my copy of the series ost.

Series and film OST arrived the other day. They're in perfectly fine condition and there are no warps, virtually no surface noise, very clean. So no problems here.

They both sound excellent. That's about the most detailed I can get after just one listen, but rest assured these are not poor remasters. Very clear, crisp, beautiful sound. Couldn't imagine FWWM sounding much better.

I wanna buy this but being in Canada it's pretty expensive. Do you guys think it'll eventually be available at a lower price, or is this the cheapest it'll ever be? Cheers.

Got my copy of FWWM, it's beautiful and the remaster sounds great. There is wonderful depth to the recording.

There is however a TON of surface noise on my copy, there's a rumbling hum between certain tracks and in the lead in, and there are clicks and pops where there shouldn't be on a new album.

The remaster sounds great underneath the crackling, and I'm sure that the lacquer master sounded amazing, it's the pressing plant where things are getting screwy.

Speaking as someone who has worked with Rainbo records and eventually had to stop using them and switch to a different pressing plant, I really think that the problems with the TP reissues lies with the pressing of he records, not the cutting of the master or any other step.

Go to yelp and check out the reviews from other people who have worked with Rainbo to get their albums pressed. Granted, I've had a few friends use them to press standard vinyl and the records came out fine, but anyone I have known that used them to do a colored vinyl pressing has had problems, myself included. And this isn't even mentioning heir customer service. When I'm paying 5-10 thousand dollars I'd expect a company to respond to my messages and calls, before having to stop payment on a check and go with someone else.

Granted we are listening to LP's here and there is inherent noise, which doesn't bother me and I'll still listen to this copy and enjoy the hell out of it. But a new remastered reissued release should absolutely not have this level of noise on it.

There are other reissues I own that are shockingly quiet when the needle is in the groove between songs or during a quiet passage.

Agh goddamnit, sounds like the same deal as the series vinyl release. Well, mine's just been dispatched anyway so I'll see for myself soon.

I kind of wish that they were doing a standard black vinyl run of these.

This is one case where I'd like to be able to buy a black vinyl copy in addition to the colored variant. The formula of that black vinyl is standard because in the 60s and 70s they tried everything to come up with a long lasting and great sounding formula that wasn't problematic in the pressing stage (and that didn't break like 78's).

There's carbon in black ones which supposedly makes them last longer. Overall there ain't a difference between other colors if at all. What it comes down to is the pressing plant, and sadly Mondo keeps opting to have their stuff pressed at a certain plant I'm not gonna keep mentioning. lol

If it makes you feel any better, the specific black vinyl component is likely in this release cuz it's a deep red AND black. I'd buy with wary confidence; if anybody has problems with it, it's not cuz the vinyl is another color than black but you-know-who and their pressing antics again.

The main difference in color as far as audio is concerned is that the different colors of vinyl granules melt at different temperatures. For instance white has a higher melting point than blue. The higher the melting point of the vinyl formula the more likely that the pressing will have surface noise, clicks, pops.

I've got records from that plant that sound fantastic, but they are all black. I don't have any multicolored vinyl from them that isn't noisy. But like I said I bought it and will enjoy it, I just wish they'd do a run on black vinyl since they insist on going with Rainbo and black is the only color Rainbo can figure out how to press properly.

My Spitter variant of Jurassic Park from Rainbo sounds immaculate as does my Twin Peaks series OST. Off the top of my head the only black release from them I own is Julee Cruise's Floating into The Night and it's just as good as the aforementioned. Quality is all over the board with Rainbo's stuff both color and not. BTW on the subject I had to return my initial JP (which was BLACK) because the first side of disc one had distortion in the left channel. Some people had bubbles in theirs and non-fill.

Bottom line, for a boutique label selling a product to people who don't want it just to look at but use, they need to STOP USING RAINBO. They're supposedly cheaper than the rest and can fill bigger orders and I assume that's why Mondo keeps sticking with them. Most of the time they use GZ/Pirates Press or so I've heard.

(I'm hoping I'm not jinxing my copy of FWWM which I have yet to receive but we will see.)

Received mine today and it's pretty clean thankfully, although the medley seems to have a few intrusive pops.

Arrived yesterday and I listened to it . Wonderfully remastered, I love it. And love the quote on the vinyl run outs. One on each side. Genius.

I've always been wondering, why did they include the song Sycamore trees from the last episode of the Series on the FWWM soundtrack ? Does anyone know if there's any specific reason for it ?
