Rename a part of Philadelphia "Eraserhood?"

Post by Bob_Dobbs_Blue_Bob »

This excellent blog out of Philadelphia has plenty of Lynch information. There's a a post about a campaign in Philadelphia, "birth place" of Eraserhead, to rename a part of the city in the film's honour! Well, maybe not officially (would be great, of course!), but the area is already called Eraserhood by some.

There are links in the article to other "Eraserhood" sites of note, including the apty named http://eraserhood.com.

The “Eraserhood” is a place I frequented for years before I knew of its associations with Eraserhead and David Lynch. It’s an old industrial area like you find in a lot of big cities, but there's just something about it that's especially atmospheric and unique. The other day I came across this image at 12th and Ridge:

Hidden City Philadelphia is apparently doing a walking tour of the area this Saturday. I can’t make it but I’m sure it will be interesting: http://hcp.memberlodge.com/event-1977023
