I think we all agree that Angelo Badalamenti music is unique..the way he captures the emotions musically. His music works so well, even when listening to it isolated from the scenes. He definitely created a new style..Many have named it "noir jazz". I am sure that this question was made too many times, but i would like to know what other soundtracks or other albuns do you considerer having a similar sound to Twin Peaks: FWWM.
For me:
Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie : Mysterious Skin (2002)-amazing soundtrack for a Greg Araki film..very etereal and atmospheric..does anyone have this album? its marvellous...
Mark Isham : Romeo is bleeding (1993) - Obscure film, but the soundtrack is amazing. sounds like miles davis and badalamenti...
Bohren and der Club of Gore -sunset mission - This is not a soundtrack, but a german band that plays "Horror Jazz".. if you like the ambient music in FWWM, youre gonna love this one.
What other albums/soundtrack have a "peakish" sound?
P.S: Dugpa, im sorry, since this is not a direct discussion on Twin Peaks music, this thread should be in "lynch related music".I just realize it now. im sorry.

Re: Badalamentian Sounds
I love catching songs here and there where you can tell the TP/Badalamenti influence or homage. Check out the KLF's "Build a Fire," Club 8's "We're Simple Minds" or Air's "Venus" to see what I mean (they all are very evocative of the main TP theme, IMHO). And of course Moby's "Go," which is basically "Laura Palmer's Theme" with a house beat. And yes, I agree that Barry Adamson's music frequently comes close, as well, in several instances.
