Dorothy Vallens reference?

Post by uncle_fugly »

When Laura Dern is stumbling down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, spitting blood everywhere, she drops the screwdriver on a star that I think reads "Dorothy Vallens." I have a feeling I misread this since, you know, Dorothy Vallens doesn't actually have a star (at least last time I checked).

Does anyone else have any idea what the real name is? Or did I read this correctly?

Ah, yes. I did a Google search for "Inland Empire Dorothy Lamour," and yes, the results confirm that the star is hers. I thank you.

It would have been pretty cool if it had said Dorothy Vallens. Or Dorothy Gale for that matter.
Through the darkness of futures past,
the magician longs to see
One chants out,
between two worlds,
fire walk with me.

Dorothy Lamour was a real movie star; she probably got one of the first stars ever.
