Thanks so much!

I wonder if I order it on-line if they'll send that cover. Seems like a crap shoot.

I wish I could find that cover physically in the store somewhere or even on eBay.

I acquired that cover at FYE in New York. Hope that helps.

Great! Thank you as well motoko! Just ordered it on-line + fingers crossed (though they use the picture of the regular release).

That's the thing.
Going over previous posts people are finding different covers at the same place,
so location doesn't necessarily guarantee a particular cover.
Here are six different covers I have come up with.
Has anyone seen a different one?

Right.
The black and white is from Virgin UK and Fnac in France.
The cover above it is from UK outlets Amazon, Optimum, Play.com.
Curious to know what other countries got.

Just saw this on the German Amazon site.
I can't read German but it looks like a different cover.
Anyone speak German?

A small question about the UK edition, does it contain english subtitles throught the whole movie or like R1 only for the polish parts?

Thanks!

No subtitles throughout the movie on the UK edition, just for the polish parts and the Pomona scene with the Asian girl. Strangely, unlike the R1 (Lynch-approved) edition the UK edition doesn't even have chapter stops.

Mine (US version) came with the "2 blue faces" one:

and the one I would really love to get is the "ugly" one:

since those who got that last one seem to really hate it maybe I could find someone to swap it for my blue one... I don't mind if it's "ugly", it really looks like the "freak cover" to me, you know, the weird one that no one even knows why it was made, so it would be a perfect fir for me ;)

EDIT: something must be said about the "2 blue faces" one posted here though. I don't know if someone corrected the levels on that image, or if that's what it looked like before printing, but the final printed DVD cover is MUCH darker than those images. the golden ink captions and white middle title really stand out, while the blue photos are really dark, much more nocturnal than you can see here.

I bought the Virgin DVD today and the black and silver slipcase looks beautiful. As with the HMV edition the only thing that's exclusive about it is the slipcase (and the HMV DVD comes with five artcards). The DVD inside is just the standard UK edition.

So, the HMV edition has an exclusive slipcase?
Does it look like the Virgin one?

Lynch 2 and Stories are good, but I think my favorite may be Quinoa (edited to add: I have not watched "more things..." yet). I think David needs a show on Food Network. :)
from the MTV interview at http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles ... tory.jhtml
David Lynch: ...I don't cook, but I had this recipe for quinoa. And cooking shows are very popular. So I thought I'd do a cooking thing.

MTV: Perhaps the cooking show could be a new part of your career?

Lynch: Let's talk at MTV because it could be big. It could be huge, man. [He laughs.] A black and white cooking show with stories, because there's a lot of waiting in cooking.
This would be awesome :D
