"A Room To Dream" was part of a promo dvd for the editing program Avid (which Lynch uses), sent for free to anyone asking for it. If you're interested in editing, it's quite an interesting dvd, and the Lynch part is great I think.

Thanks, I thought that clip was very effective, the way the girls emotions seem to switch from humour to fear and back, and once again a song to go withit, great stuff. I'll have a look into that dvd. You are very helpful, thanks again.

snikgrif--I just wrote the people where we got the free DVDs last spring to see if they have any left. I bet there are people who got the DVD, watched it once and forgot about it. At the time, people said it contained scenes from INLAND EMPIRE. dugpa would know for sure.

Thankyou Annie, it looks very interesting, have you seen it? It apparently describes DL's methods on editing such things as sound, colour, etc.

It does describe Lynch's methods on editing, sound, colour and music too. It is very interesting. He explains the making of a scene, the one you saw, and then we see the results. It's pretty good.

There are no scenes from INLAND EMPIRE on this dvd.

Well I must try and get this Theo, it's a subject I would find very interesting. I found a couple of clips on DL editing Lux Vivens on Youtube in case you missed them,

Annie, if you have no luck with the people who gave them last spring, I might have a chance with Avid Asia they seem to have some still, according to their website. I have to apply for a copy, which will be ok, as long as they except it that is?

Thanks for the link. Here's another cool link, from the Lynchnet site, a really good site. He has lots of info on Lux Vivens.

Yes that's it, what a great voice. I like David---'' that's how it should start''

''--but the song is in e-minor''

''I don't care!!''

Hey guys! snikgrif, go ahead and try Avid Asia. I know a lot of people who got them when they first came out, so I'll also ask around if the Digidesign people won't answer me.

It might take a while, so be patient. I'm assuming Avid Asia is actually in Asia! We'll find you one, snikgrif.

Thankyou Annie, that'll give me two irons in the fire, one as back up to the other, but don't worry if you can't find one, I appreciate your thought and effort. Nice one!

The "Room to Dream" scene was shot at the location of the BBQ scene in Inland Empire, with the same cast, at the same time. Laura was supposed to appear in it, but her agent nixed it when she had that movie out with Naomi.

I am still to see Inland Empire, so when I do I'll keep an eye out for the BBQ scene. I like that short scene that was done at the same place, it was full of different things from just three people sitting in one place. I sent off for ''Room to Dream'' from Avid Asia awhile back, but it has yet to arrive? Probably missed the boat on that one.
