One of my favourite shows, particularly the classic era. (Tom Baker is fantastic in the role). I don't have the same level of love for the new stuff, but a lot of the callbacks to the show icons and continuity have been huge highlights. Who knew Sarah Jane would ever get her own spin-off? It's great seeing a non-American genre show go from strength to strength the world over.

Hey Gerry, I didn't know that Sarah Jane got her own spin-off! What's the name of it? My favorite doctor was Sylvester McCoy.

McCoy is definitely underrated. Of The Sarah Jane Adventures, I haven't seen every episode but I liked what I saw: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0862620/ Apparently Nicholas Courtney a.k.a The Brigader Sir Alistair Lethbridge Stewart is returning in an up-coming ep! :D

Wow; I wonder if it was even shown over here in the US. I haven't been able to see the new Doctor Who series ever since my cable box blew up! I love the old shows and that's cool the Brigader is returning.

I used to hang out at the Gallifrey site (forgot the exact name); talk about a fandom; that place is packed. Too much for me to keep up with.

This may be a lil off-subject but I love the theme music for Dr. Who (the original) and it makes me love Pink Floyd's One of these Days even more.

Just popping into the thread to say that I also am a lifelong fan of the Doctor's. In fact, I remember reading some great fan fic years ago about the 7th Doctor and Ace popping into Twin Peaks, Agent Cooper turning out to be a Time Lord, etc., that actually kinda felt like it worked within the mythologies of the series. I could absolutely see Coop as a Time Lord! At any rate, I'm thoroughly enjoying the new series and honestly can't believe it's made as big a comeback as it has, but I'll always have a big soft spot for the original, bad FX and all.

Hey, TheArm, I had no idea; interesting idea! I can see Coop as a Time Lord, adding to his kookieness (is that a word?) and we'd have to dress him up a bit more. :D

Old thread but I'm new here and a HUGE Doctor Who fan since first seeing Tom Baker on PBS way back.

Favorite Doctors are Tom Baker, Colin Baker, Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy. Those guys are usually in my top spots although I like all the Doctors a lot.
The new series is really good to.
