Honestly, I just cannot abide these damned noise nuisances. I can't recall how many times over the years that I've either been awakened by their shrieking in the middle of the night, or during the day, having to endure repeated cycling. Rarely does anyone check their car to see why it's gone off. It's NEVER due to the car's being broken into. I believe that many car alarms are too sensitively calibrated, possibly because people install them theirselves and have no idea what they're doing.
Anyway, it's bloody annoying. I sleep very lightly and I can come awake in an instant. I especially hate when I'm roused from a great dream!!!
I wonder if anyone else has problems with noise pollution from car alarms. Wish they'd be legislated out of existence. I don't see that they are at all worthwhile...
( I live in an inner city neighborhood in a mid sized city. It's become heavily ghettoized in the last 20 years, and with that development, the noise level has gone up significantly.)
