I started a darkjazz/badalamenti themed music thread a while back but it didn't really catch on... No wonder, obscure as it is.
Now, I'm very curious about the taste of other forum members when it comes to soundtracks. For me, sometimes, an OST composer can out-rule both directors and/or actors as the most quintessential towards the aesthetic value of a film.
Here's one of my straight up favorites and an example of exactly that: Gustavo Santaolalla.
