“I'll see you again in 25 years” (SPOILERS)

Post by Cadien »

As big a Twin Peaks fan as I am, if the new series doesn't start the very first scene with a flashback to the original series of Laura Palmer saying “I'll see you again in 25 years," I will be a tad let down. I know, 2017 is not exactly 25 years later, but could the writers have possible planned a better set up than Laura promising to return in a quarter century . . . and then in 25 years (+ 2) the series does return. It's gotta happen!

I'm not expecting that at all.

I don't expect it, and if it doesn't happen I wont be killed with sadness, but I think that scene or some variation would be a great opening.

I'm fairly certain the new show is going to open with people we've never seen before.

I'd prefer that (an unsuspicious townfolk opening scene with music that'd easily get us in the mood) WAY more than opening with a lodge scene.

10th June 1991 + 25 years = 10th June 2016 (they had finished filming by then, right?)

Also, 21st May 2017 is still within 25 years (25 years + 11 months + 10 days?)

yes not only do i not expect to see the lodge or laura very soon,
i am not even expecting to see the town of twin peaks right away.
i am also imagining that the teaser shot of cooper emerging from the darkness will be the last shot of epi 1.
just a guess but we will find out in a few hours - amazing!
i won't be bothered at all if i am wrong though...
next step: rocket science!

It is so easy to say this now but I saw the opposite happening and to my astonishment I was more right than I wanted to be
