To me the sound of bad dales altered speech is reminiscent of Sarah Palmers altered speech in the season 2 finale.wxray wrote:I like that idea. Maybe he's beginning to lose his "powers," whatever they may be, including his ability to sound/imitate human?

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
I just finished Part 2 on my first rewatch:
I wonder if the Duncan Todd (Patrick Fischler) "she's got the job" scene (which is similar to MD, as other have noted) refers to "Janey-E"/Naomi Watts being hired to play Dougie Jones's wife. This would certainly have multiple layers of MD resonances.
Laura's gesture before removing her face seems similar to an upside-down version of Gordon Cole's gesture at the Portland airport in FWWM.
People have noted DoppelCoop repeating himself, a la "I have to brush my teeth." In the diner scene in Part 2, he twice says dialogue to the effect that "There's one thing you should know about me. I don't need anything. I want."
Look closely in Part 1 when Ray & Darya are leaving Buella/Otis's place. They each appear to hand an index card-sized paper to the man in the wheelchair. Wonder if this will ever be revisited, or if it's just a strangely Lynchian moment.

I think we've figured out that the Patrick Fischler casino is actually in Atlantic City, not Las Vegas and he's referring to Tracey, the coffee girl.Mr. Reindeer wrote:I just finished Part 2 on my first rewatch:

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
I just had an idea that seems a bit of a stretch, but the theory is worth considering. Before typing this up, I noticed similar ideas posted by TimeLife and Gabriel within the past day in this thread.
Since the new series established that a person and his doppelganger can exist as separate physical entities, we should reconsider the nature of Laura's doppelganger. There is evidence that points to the possibility that Laura may have a living doppelganger in the real world.
Point #1: In the Waiting Room, Laura said, "I am dead yet I live."
Point #2: In the Waiting Room, Leland said, "Find Laura."
Point #3: Because Dougie was wearing the Owl Ring, there is reason to connect this item with the duplication of a person. Laura's obtaining the Owl Ring at the end of FWWM may have opened the door to a supernatural process that we don't yet understand. Dougie's Owl Ring may be the work of the evil side of MFAP, who now seems to have both a good and evil tree version. Whether or not MFAP wanted Laura to possess the Owl Ring, she obtains it nonetheless. Could this event have split Laura into two?
Point #4: Twin Peaks was originally based in part on the 1944 film, Laura. The story involved an investigator, who falls in love with the woman who's murder he had been investigating. A major plot twist occurs when the investigator discovers that Laura is still alive. Could Twin Peaks be headed down a similar path?
Point #5: Cooper's bringing Laura home alive to her mother would be an incredibly impactful ending. Laura's murder has always been at the core of Twin Peaks, and Cooper's resolving that crime would speak to the very heart of the series.

The stars at night are big and bright. Remember 430.
Is 8675309 relevant or just a set designer making fun of us?
Sorry, couldn't help myself. If I'm behind it's because I can't keep up.
Hope everyone is as ass kicked with utter bliss as I am. So much hidden in plain sight. What happened on 3/15? And not just in Rome. The clues are shrieking at us.
Have fun and cheers folks. 253, time and time and a place. Betty has the coordinates.
Ahhhhhh so much better than anticipated.

It also isn't the first Naomi Watts character to encounter a 'new' person carrying a bag containing wads of cash.

The way The Return seems to echo Lynch's career is incredible.Saturn's child wrote:It also isn't the first Naomi Watts character to encounter a 'new' person carrying a bag containing wads of cash.

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
Wait, what? The scene opens with an establishing shot of Las Vegas and has a chyron explicitly stating the location as "LAS VEGAS, NEVADA." That's one of the few things that is pretty unambiguous in the show so far!HagbardCeline wrote:I think we've figured out that the Patrick Fischler casino is actually in Atlantic City, not Las Vegas and he's referring to Tracey, the coffee girl.Mr. Reindeer wrote:I just finished Part 2 on my first rewatch:

Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
The security guard looking after "the cube" looked like his right eye was glassed over. Anyone else notice this? It's constantly in shadow so difficult to see.
Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
Anyone else considered that maybe Evil Cooper is now controlling Bob?
Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
Ha ha ha! I'm betting a lot of the insiders look at this forum, reddit and elsewhere and laugh their asses off on some of our speculations. I know if I were an insider, and Lynch let me at it, I'd have my fun.
But the thing is, when it comes to Lynch/Frost, so many of the details DO matter. For all we know, an upcoming Jenny character may play some huge role. Or maybe this is a reference to Janey-E (Watt's character.) Sounds like "Jenny." Then again, maybe Janey-E is a rip on Zemeckis and Hanks, and his irritating pronunciation of "Jenny."

Exactly. I don't see any Atlantic City involvement. I think the tie to Janey-E is more appropriate.Mr. Reindeer wrote:Wait, what? However, I also think there is more to Tracey than meets the eye. I don't think she is just infatuated, I think she is a "bad girl" and is there to find out what's going on, and I suspect even took out the security guard.
