Any speculation on this from our expert detectives?

Episode 1: Rancho Rosa (yellow clouds) - zig zag floor + red drapes - Cooper/Laura "I'll see you again in 25 years" - fog/light over forested mountains - abandoned saw mill - school hallway - running student (from pilot) - trophy cabinet zooming in on Laura - TITLE - flying over river to waterfall - red drapes into zig zag floor - first scene.

Episode 2: Rancho Rosa (blue/white clouds) - fog/light/Laura's face over forested mountains - TITLE - shorter flight over waterfall - red drapes into zig zag floor - first scene.

Episode 3: Rancho Rosa (grey clouds) - same as E2

Episode 4: Rancho Rosa (grey clouds, inverted?) - same as E2

So, I have a theory about power outlet 15 vs. power outlet 3.

If Cooper would have passed through 15, he would have had the mental age of a 15 year old.

Instead, the Blue Rose determined it would be safer for him to come through with the mental age of a 3 year old.

A 15 year old may have been overwhelmed emotionally by everything, whereas a 3 year old (in a grown man's body) is more filled with wonder and more receptive.

Just a thought.

When Cooper looks up at the camera on the ceiling in the casino manager's office it makes a sound that resembles that sounds the devices make around the glass box in NYC...."We're watching you..." Is Cooper inside of the glass box while he's in Dougie's world and being watched?

Hmmm. We never actually see him get out of that box, do we? He just moves further and further back inside. The only thing I don't love about this is that it means the "mauve room" is inside the glass box -- I prefer to imagine that world existing on some other plane of existence.

But the black non-existence fall does happen outside the box (even if we don't see it chronologically), so the purple world could still be a separate place.

Cooper also taps the glass mirror in the bathroom mysteriously...could be that he sort of realizes he's inside a fake world.

There is a scene after the casino, when he leaves the limo and looks up at the owl. Struck me as similar to him reacting to the camera in the office. Aware of being watched again?

Speaking of owls, anyone dissatisfied with the visual effects of the new show needs to go back and rewatch every "owl" shot on the original show.

I did finally see the 4th episode, and saw the military block on the fingerprints. I think that's a pretty hard clue that the body belongs to Briggs. Bobby says his dad "burned" in a fire, but does that body look charred? I couldn't tell if it was just bruising or decomposition. It also makes me think that Briggs was imprisoned somewhere for a long time.

It sounds like Jeffries and Doppecooper were working together whenever Albert had given them the information. I wish they had nailed down the time that occurred. All he said was that it was years ago.

Finally, in the blue-scene, when Albert crunches his shoes on the pavement, it sounded like the sound the giant played with the record player again didn't it? Not sure what that means. I think it's the third place we've heard it now. (Glass Box, Casino, Albert's Shoes).

the body being briggs make sense b/c cooper only saw his head floating.

Could be...Definitely need to keep an eye out for more hints like that in subsequent episodes.

Somewhat related - people have been saying the role of Janey-E Jones (watts) was the job that Mr Todd was talking about...Might make sense if it's a part inside a simulated reality of sorts.

Was watching that Mr Jackpots scene in the casino again...

It looks like vapour at first glance - it dissipates as vapour does. Smoke lingers. Certainly wasn't any electronic cigarettes in 2003.

Then I noticed this...

What is that? It looks to me like an ashtray with lots of butts in it. Or is it just drink straws or what?

If smoking is still allowed inside casinos, then it must be before 2006 or so when the smoking ban in public places came in. If its vapour, then it must be post 2010 or so.

I'm pretty sure casinos are generally exempted from smoking bans. I know for a fact that you can smoke in Atlantic City casinos (at least as of a couple of years ago), believe this is also true in Vegas.

(Also worth noting that in a DKL production, you can likely smoke wherever you damn well please.)

So I assume the Showtime tweet was just referring to the colors of the Rancho Rosa logo changing? I can't see anything else that changes (besides the obvious difference between the "extended" Part 1 main title and subsequent episodes).

My theory is that the creature in the glass box is an entity comprised of the murdered woman's missing body and the murdered man's missing head

I'm totally blown away by eps 3+4. I don't understand the "Dougie" stuff at all, although clearly he has the notorious FWWM ring, and is some version or reference to Dougie Milford as fleshed out in Secret History (I assume?).

This doesn't make sense on a few levels, as Dougie Milford is long dead. But Cooper still is able to "jump" into this person's body/life. So either the ring allows him to somehow exist in a version in 2017, or he is some fraudulent placeholder of a person, set up with the sole intent of creating a vessel for Cooper to appear through.

Philip Gerard/MIKE recognizes that something is amiss, and he all but dismisses Dougie as a narrative device.

But I think there is significance in Major Briggs appearing to Cooper before he returns to the corporeal world. I can't help but think that Briggs, in his astral or soul state, was somehow able to twist events around to bring a new version of Dougie Milford into being, just to give Cooper a vessel. We know that Briggs held Dougie MIlford in high esteem, so it makes sense he'd use him as a model for this placeholder life.

What's interesting is that hitmen were waiting to kill CoopDougie, so they somehow knew that Cooper would appear in Dougie's place. I'm guessing Philip Jeffries or BadCoop were in part behind this.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around 3+4. I don't think the FWWM ring is ever going to make sense again after tonight.
