ThumbsUp wrote:Did Good Coop manufacture the Diane tulpa? He knows how to make them and Diane was referring to him as "Coop" and said "hope this works" when she sent coordinates (a trap?) to Bad Coop. Or perhaps Good Coop tried to override Bad Coop's control.

Having said that, if the "real" Diane can peek out from the Bad Coop-controlled tulpa, might the "real" coop's memories have ever surfaced from Dougie?
Good one!

I took what happened to Richard was originally intended to happen to Mr C.

Those directions could've been Diane's - we're not sure about this, right?

PS: it's kinda weird/confusing that Tulpas seem to at least hear a few of the source material's memories.

I still think the Las Vegas reality is fake, or in the very least in a different world some how.

I re-watched the scene of Cooper and the Fireman in Part 1. Was it ever confirmed what the scratching sound is? It reminded me of the (distorted) sound of a rotary phone because after every scratching there is a quiet scraping sound, similar to how a dial rotates back after dialing (I hope this description makes sense). I'm not sure if the sound even matters, maybe Lynch used a sound that he liked without any meaning, but we saw several rotary phones in TPTR, like Charlie's or inside and outside the convenience store. And IIRC, Mr. C. was transported to the phone booth outside the convenience store after the phone in Jeffries' room rang, so maybe phones are a way of transportation between worlds. When the scratching sound in Part 1 stops, the Fireman says "It is in our house now", so maybe "it" dialed the right number and was transported into the White Lodge. Andy also saw a phone (though not a rotary phone) in his visions when he was in the White Lodge, and I've been wondering why this would be an important thing for Andy to see.

Isn't it just the sound of the gramophone needle scratching the turntable with no record?

Incidentally, if you like watching Jacoby spraypaint shovels, check out the Lynch documentary for a super long scene of DKL recording the sound of a turning gramophone crank as his cigarette burns down to ash in his mouth.

These are the things I live for.

Could be, I have no idea what a turntable with no record sounds like. But I remember reading a lot of weird theories what the sound could be (e.g. electricity), so I thought I'd share mine :D

Do you mean "The Art Life"? It hasn't been released here, yet. But I didn't like the Jacoby scene, so I don't know if I could sit through the gramophone scene (though it sounds more interesting than painting shovels).

Just a random idea, but the shot of the girl running from the pilot, doesn't she have her hands covering here eyes? Plus why the repeated use of that shot?

Also in terms of Richard, neither our Coop or Dougie Coop interacted with him, so why did the Fireman warn Coop? Perhaps Richard is coming back?

ETA: two birds with one stone, is it possible Good Coop is able to create two dugpas using one gold orb?

I think we assume Coop is here to save the day, but Laura is The One. She surely can't be a victim again, so wonder how this will play out.

Do we know how Dougies wedding ring ended up in Major Briggs stomach yet?

Also, what part did Laura's missing diary pages play in the overall scheme of things?

Not a random idea. I've posed it several times - - most recently when I nominated that girl as a possible reveal to be "Judy." I was only half-serious though. Cappy has also mentioned her being used twice. What seemed to me like only serving a menial purpose in S1, that shot does seem to bear more significance this season doesn't it? For the life of me I can't guess why.

She's covering her entire face w/ both hands I think, not just her eyes. Which evoked for me not Naido so much as the manner in which Sarah/ Laura each opened-up their faces.

I like this idea! But I haven't been able to conjure any other meanings for "2 birds/ 1 stone" so it fits as good as anything. (You meant 'tulpa' not 'dugpa', right?)

I posted this which got lost as last post of the prior page...
An idea...

'Diane' and Janey-E were both manufactured from the same source. Half-sisters. Two birds with one stone. How come Dougie ended up married to Janey? Small world, but not that small...
I think if this was true, Dougie, Janey and the Diane tulpas were all made at the same time. Would that fit the timeline? Need to cross reference when the Fuscos said Dougie's records started with when Diane said she was visited by the doppelgänger...

The cashier in the Silver Mustang casino in Part 3 is wearing a green ring, that looks similar to the owl cave ring (but a bit more egg-shaped and with a different symbol or pattern):

I'm wondering if this is just a coincidence because it seems weird to have a character wear a ring that could be easily mistaken for the owl cave ring.
