I watched the extended clip, & it kind of became a Lynchian comedy moment due to how long the clapping goes.

Really happy for Lynch and Frost. Evenso, l half wish the crowd had boo-ed them, not that l'm a rebel, but world weariness makes me wary of praise from film buffs, they've lauded of a lot of bad stuff over the past 2 decades. Case in point, John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars is universally ridiculed, but it was a masterpiece. I'm not specifically talking about Cannes so l'll leave it there.

I'm happy he get standing ovation. That pretentious booing back then must have been painful to David Lynch. Tide turn and I'm very glad for him.
