Probably not a reference but the scene at the end of part 2 where Sarah Palmer is watching how some Lions are attacking and killing a Gnu (or however the animal might be called), reminded me about a similar scene in Wild at Heart where Johnnie Farragut watches a similar wildlife scene on his tv but if I'm not mistaking in this case there are no Lions but hyenas.

The Dougie green suit is very similar to the green suit worn by the jealous husband in IE.

The curvature of the ceiling and placement of the lights in the "Pink Room" / Blue Rose room in Pt.3 is very similar to the green room in IE.

The hallway and the confused obese lady that discovers that her neighbor, Ruth, is dead reminded me of the scene from MD in which the clumsy hit-man gets into a scuffle with the obese lady he shoots by accident.

The fact that the neighbor discovers a putrid smell seems a call back to Diane's neighbor telling her those two detectives came by again in MD.

From what I remember, he started alluding to it in FWWM, so he's definitely going somewhere with it

People have noted elsewhere that "the evolution of the Arm" bears some resemblance (amorphous head on stick-like body) to DKL's 1991 sculpture Clay Head with Turkey, Cheese and Ants (famously the cover to Julee Cruise's 1993 album The Voice of Love, and the topic of a Jay Leno interview). The Arm's "head" also seems to have inherited some of its shape from DKL's series of photos placing chewing gum on the heads of small figures (see Man Thinking, 1988).

The interrogstion and jaililing of Bill Hastings over a murder he has ZERO recollections over a murder he might have commited... Very Lost Highway.

The random inclusions of people with bodily disfigurations like in Wild at Heart and Dune.. In this case when bad coop was picking up Ray and Daria, the wheelchair man.

The bare room with the box reminds me very much of the polish factory shooting and photo sessions, some which ended up in IE. Anyone else get this vibe?

In the first episode there is a credit for a new Badalamenti/Lynch piece called "Frank 2000". I guess this is a sequel to "Blue Frank" from the original series and FWWM. Guess we only heard a few seconds cuz i shure cant make it out. Hopefully well get a full version later down the line. Anyone knows the song?

Several great replies. I noticed a lot of the MD references already mentioned. In addition, Naomi Watts mentioned making a sandwich again. Also, in MD, the firetruck was number 119 (like drug lady's 119 chant).

Cooper entering and walking kind of aimlessly around in the casino; the way he moves/walks reminded me of Henry Spencer's introduction scene in EH (watch from 0:33)

Ha, yep. The waddling seemed like a direct imitation of Jack Nance.

Exactly, so it's real Coop, disorientated. I don't understand why people are creating yet another Coop to handle Coop returning to the world disorientated. Three Coopers are enough to manage without various sub-Coopers!
