Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
Due to a bit of chatter in the Part 3 spoiler thread, I decided to see how well this would actually work. It's the opening scene synced to Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother. Quite a few moments made me go "huh, that's.. weird." Anyway, thought this would be the place to share it. Hope at least one of you gets a little enjoyment from watching.

Damn that came down fast. CBS blocked it within minutes of uploading. Alas. Maybe I can find another way to share.

thats pretty solid.
Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
It's interesting that so much of the new season takes place in South Dakota. Wasn't Twin Peaks originally supposed to be set in South Dakota or Montana, before Lynch/Frost settled on Washington State?
It'd be nice to see more geography surrounding Buckhorn, and maybe get more of a sense of the local culture. So far what little we've seen could have taken place in almost any town in America.
I love the character of Constance Talbot from the Buckhorn P.D. Her joking over Maj. Briggs' headless body was great, and felt like the type of morbid quirkiness that would spring forth from the town of Twin Peaks. It reminded me a lot of Albert's outburst in the morgue when Dr. Hayward stopped his autopsy for Laura's funeral, albeit a more lighthearted version of that. Also, Shelly's re-enactment of Leland falling in Laura's grave using a napkin holder at the Double R. Hopefully if there is another season Constance can transfer to the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department.

This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

Z's 7's and chevron shapes. Lots of rhyming and mirror like images scattered throughout parts 1-6 so far.
Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
That first video (Cole reacting to the Evelyn Marsh storyline) is fantastic!
I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.
Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
So Lynch has not made any U.S. talk show appearances to promote this show, correct? I've been keeping a watch on listings, but just wonder if I've missed something. It's surprising that he hasn't considering that he did several back in the day. I think he did Charlie Rose's show in the past, right? That feels like more his speed today, but no appearance. I wonder why.
I DON'T FEEL GOOD!!!!!
Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
Did you read some of his interviews in the last few days leading up to the finale? Lazy, banal questions, and he was very clearly fed up with it. I think this is at least part of the reason he's not appearing on talk shows. Also, speaking for myself, late night talk shows are just horrible, horrible things. I wouldn't want to subject myself to that, so I can't imagine that he would want to deal with it. Life is short. He should be making art or otherwise doing things he enjoys, not subjecting himself to torture.IcedOver wrote:So Lynch has not made any U.S. talk show appearances to promote this show, correct? The man also just hates talking about himself or his work, except on his own terms (i.e., on a DVD "stories" feature where he's in complete control). The pre-Return GQ interview was (hysterically) pretty much an article about how uncomfortable DKL was in the interview setting, with almost no actual quotes from him. I think the most excited he got in the EW article was when they asked him about the table he was building.Jasper wrote:Did you read some of his interviews in the last few days leading up to the finale? Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)
I've seen a video somewhere comparing scenes from The Return to other works of art (Bacon paintings, etc). I can't remember if I saw it here or Reddit or what. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?
Thanks for your help!!
