Peter Sarsgaard's role in Season 3

I remember way back Peter Sarsgaard confirmed he was supposed to be in Season 3 but had to bail because of a scheduling conflict. Who do we think he would have played (assuming the character has appeared in the first 9 episodes)? I am guessing maybe Red. Even though I like Balthazar Getty, I think Sarsgaard may have been a better choice, especially in the coin-toss scene. Thoughts?

Could be anyone really, but my guesses range from Hastings to Beverly Paige's husband to Hutch.

Probably not Red. Reports on Getty's casting precede reports on Sarsgaard by about two weeks.
