Candie, Mandie, and Sandie

Post by DoppelBocker »

No doubt Candie is the center of attention of the 3 waitresses with pink cocktail dresses with Mandie and Sandie sort of serving as embellishing counterparts from a visual standpoint as Candie always stands in the center and they all perform their roles just so both at the casino and at the owners home. The Mitchum brothers always talk to Candie while the other 2 women never speak giving just the right looks, just the right airs, and just the right sort of placement to go unnoticed yet very present.

It just occurred to me during the restaurant scene that maybe the other 2 women will suddenly turn out to be some sort of geniuses living this particular life to help their freind Candie live out her daily life (actress discusses Candie's possible backstory here: http://www.vulture.com/2017/07/twin-pea ... andie.html). Wouldn't that be crazy if suddenly they turn out to be a walking lexicon of knowledge seeing Mitchum brothers just look at eachother like what the heck? lol

Just a funny notion I've had sort of re-watching some of the scenes. If this turns out to be accurate it would really say something about perception in general. As several episodes to go perhaps we'll find out or perhaps the possibility will linger. If this does happen what will it take for this big reveal to happen?

Let's just say I would be extremely shocked if they did something like this.

The three muses delight every time they are on screen. Time will tell, but they are in contention for the most indelible characters of The Return. (In my opinion. :D ). I hope they fulfill their destiny and inspire the Mitchum brothers to do great things.

I think if these three didn't have something special about them, Cooper would object to bringing them on the trip with him. I suspect Candie is a seer, but it would be really fun if all three of them together had some sort of amplification power. Like Candie can see more if the other two are near her, or if the three can't be harmed as long as they're together.

I think we've all considered that the (C|M|S)andie threesome might prove to be some kind of gestalt entity. The 'power of three' thing is so ambiguous though (three fates, three gorgons, three wise monkeys, three witches on the blasted heath, etc. etc.) I can't help feeling there is a darker side to them, that their unassuming atmosphere is so much glamour-magic(k). I would love them to turn out to be Lachesis, Clotho and Atropos avatars in some weird scene in which 'the thread will be torn' for some important character.
As a matter of fact, 'Chalfont' was the name of the people that rented this space before. Two Chalfonts. Weird, huh?

I loved these three, but I thought there was a massive missed opportunity there to have at least some interaction between Candie and Lucy.
Exceptional.

FWWM we had Lil (perhaps other French woman at Hap's diner some role as well?) then in S3 we had the French woman with Gordon Cole (keep thinking of that scene only with Viva Las Vegas playing in background when play it back in my mind as she's leaving the room lol). Lots of mystery surrounding these women and their roles pertaining to Blue Rose cases.

Now that I think of it (wasn't thinking of this in initial post made above), perhaps it would've been interesting to suddenly have Mandie and Sandie involved somehow while of course being back on time to care for their old friend Candie?

I miss the potential back in Part 5 when it seemed like they were lodge spirits. Or later on when Candie appeared to have been undermining the Mitchums when they were watching her on the security cam.

I loved when Candie swatted one of the Mitchums (can't remember their names), and her reaction. That was a fascinating juxtaposition to the unnerving barrage of male on female violence, and I was hoping they were going to go further with that. But then Candie just ended up being really pleasant never had anything of interest to do again other than strut around and give people sandwiches, delightful as that may have been.
