Re: Recut of TPTR
it is nice to have seen Dougie stumbling thru the casino, but those sequences
can be cut to 3 minutes instead of 10. it wont lose anything.

Heh. I wonder how long a "Twin Peaks: Road Trip" edit would be.The Gazebo wrote:Man, that would be spectacular. A whole new life for the show. Who can "create" the best episode?garethw wrote:I keep toying with the idea of building a database for all the scenes, with info on who and what is in each seen, as well as maybe time-order dependencies on other scenes, and time-codes into the source material. So you'd be able to generate and watch playlists of stuff you're interested in. It sort of fits in with Davd Lynch's suggestion that maybe the parts should be watched in arbitrary order.
A new edit every day.
I'm a sucker for nighttime scenes, so I'd head straight for a full-blown evening episode Would probably include lots of driving, though

I think you could recut a pretty convincing TP:TR II using scenes from Weekend at Bernie's I & II, The Room, Lost Highway and the Missing Pieces. Would be a fun project! Sadly I don't have any editing skills.

I'm OK with this, but don't you dare cutting off anything containing Tammy, or else you're my natural enemy.

Don't forget 11, that was epic. The Brown Lodge wrote:This should have been an 8 or 9 episode series.
I would have episodes 1,2,3,4,8,16,17,18, maybe with 1 slower less-significant episode.
with the more relevant pieces from other episodes patched in.
Most of the Las Vegas storyline would be cut.
F*&^ you Gene Kelly

On a scale of 1-5 with 1 least valuable and 5 most valuable, most of the scenes hover at 2-3, but I feel the same about Inland Empire.
The jail scenes, Jacoby's rerun, all the Roadhouse crap. zzzzzzz I'm not a fan of the traffic stop scene, or Steve's suicide, but that's just personal annoyance.
I mean, compared to the Richard/Linda porno, they both brim with creative vitality and make Wally Brando look like Shakespeare.

Steven, Becky, Norma, Ed, Nadine, Jacoby, Red, Richard Horne, Carl Rodd, most of Dougie, Audrey, the Roadhouse, Chet, James, the Mitchum brothers the myriad named and unnamed side characters do absolutely nothing to the end resolution of the story. I think it's possible to cut this into a movie length.
Re: Recut of TPTR
basicly, yes, you can make 90 minutes out of it. i think someone will do it sooner or later.

And Lucy killing the doppelganger and the Freddie vs BOB bubble showdown. I'd rather these arcs to be left unresolved.Mr. Reindeer wrote:Cut Wally Brando, leave everything else.

Just have a silent film style "scene missing" plate over that part with a bar of Slow 30's Room over it. Part 8 could also be abbreviated come to think of it.Agent Sam Stanley wrote:And Lucy killing the doppelganger and the Freddie vs BOB bubble showdown. No, it needs to be the Roadhouse sweeping scene.sylvia_north wrote:Just have a silent film style "scene missing" plate over that part with a bar of Slow 30's Room over it.
