Cooper in Episode 29 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fnvVjs5rsY Notice he has his pin. Cooper in FWWM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhxz0sLjzWc No pin
I think the Cooper who talks to Fireman in Part 1 is the Cooper from the Red Room in FWWM.Both dont have the pin.Whereas the Cooper wearing the pin in Season 3 in the Red Room is the one that entered the Lodge in Episode 29 of the Original Run.

I can imagine Lynch reading posts like these and laughing his ass off alone at his home.

I noticed the pin thing too but it's just continuity errors. Like Cooper's ties that don't match in the Blacklodge scenes between season 1 (dream sequence), season 2 (ep 29) and season 3.
There are also errors when comparing the text messages sent by Mr C, then received by Diane, punctuation and time differs. Lynch does not give a shit about details like storytelling, chronology, logic, or anything else nowadays. This is all a dream and stuff ya know, so why bother with those things right?

Why on earth would you assume those to be continuity errors?

Why on earth would you assume they are not? Do you really think that 3 different ties for the same character stuck in a room from another dimension for 25 years has a secret meaning? Do you assume Cooper had spare clothes in the red room? Do you believe changing the red curtains, armchairs, or reversing the lodge floor pattern means anything? If BOB is now a flying ball it's not because it's a great idea, it's just because they didn't want someone else than Frank Silva to play the part and it was easier and cheaper to use stock shots of his actual face rather than recreate it in CG's and use it on a stunt double. But it's now another continuity error, no flying ball in previous seasons or in the film. Maybe recasting BOB would have made more sense after all.

I believe the floor patterns having changed means a great deal (notice the AC vs DC theme throughout the season). I have never noticed the ties - those are most likely the result of wardrobe not being able to locate the original prop, if they are extremely different it is worth looking into. The dis and reappearance of the pin seems much more deliberate, especially since structurally the creators are teasing us a bit in terms of exactly when some scenes appear chronologically.

I generally err on the side of “continuity error” rather than “super subtle clue,” but the pin definitely seems intentional, based on the fact that it disappears for a consecutive stretch of the series, and DKL has paid specific attention to Coop’s lapel pins as far back as the first Red Room scene. Whether it has any specific articulable meaning is anyone’s guess.

It wouldn't matter if Lynch came out and confirmed it was intentional because some have it stuck in their thick skulls obsessions with artists/creators "doing wrong" on an infinite trip to be the always critic.

IDK how many of you play video games but that new game Cuphead has instances of intentional miscolored elements that the creators have confirmed as a nod to how that would happen in vintage cartoons; you can bet your ass some select people accused them of trying to save face and that it wasn't intentional.

Imagine being like that!
