This is excellent! I particularly felt the interviewer did a good job of (gently) coaxing tiny details from Kyle about his first pass at the script, and his first impressions of it. That comment Kyle made about the original draft of the Return script having more classic Agent Cooper (somehow) is tantalizing. Wonder what that means exactly...

I feel that a lot of scenes have been cut that even Kyle wasnt aware until the show finished airing.Kyle was the only actor who read the whole Script. So he knew the complete story and how it was supposed to end and while shooting his scenes he must obviously know which scene is where in the story, like "What year is this?" was supposed to be the last scene.
Here in this article Kyle mentions everything will make sense by the end: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live- ... se-1019076

After the finale aired Kyle himself was shocked and was still processing the ending: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/20 ... interviews

Why was Kyle shocked? He had already read the whole script , shot the scenes .Unless the script Kyle read had a different ending or a different end was shot but Lynch edited the "What year is this?" to be the real ending and Kyle wasn't aware of this

I believe there was a conflicting statement from Kyle at some point where he said that he remembers filming the final scene, but didn't realize it was the final scene, or something like that. I can't remember where but I remember there was discussion about it.

It's from this interview
When you filmed that final scene on the street outside of Laura Palmer's house, did you know you were shooting the ending of Twin Peaks?

I don't know if I knew it was the end end, but I knew it was near the end. I knew it was going to be the culmination of everything that had come before. I don't know if David had any other ideas at the time. This was in September or October that we shot this in Seattle, and we didn't finish filming until April the next year, so I didn't know for sure. But I knew that it would seem to be what was going to be what ended up being the last scene of these 18 hours.

Thanks for that. Nuance is important.
