I’m pretty certain L/F have said they both signed NDAs as well. Which makes sense: on the one hand, they’re being good bosses by holding themselves to the same standard as their employees; on the other hand, they have a free pass to be evasive in interviews.

"I don't talk about that" certainly has a different ring to it than the never-say-nevers and the maybes

In here he says ,"I don't talk about that".If there were no more Twin Peaks, Lynch would have said a straight No.
Reminds me of the time before The Return aired, where any question regarding Season 3 was answered by Lynch with the same reply.Him saying that feels like he is under a NDA again.
When asked if he's doing any film projects right now, Lynch says, "I'm doing painting right now." This reminds me of the time, very shortly before the announcement of The Return, when he was asked about continuing Twin Peaks and he responded that...he was doing painting.

Now, I fully believe that he was painting at the time, just like he's surely painting now, but in the older example he was obviously doing some other stuff as well. So, he can make a true statement about the fact that he's painting, even if he's doing other things, and Lynch is so deft at this type of evasion that it's hard to ever know what is or is not a straightforward answer.

I must stress that I'm not suggesting that Lynch is working on more Peaks or a film, I'm just pointing out that it's possible that he's doing something in addition to what he's willing to share.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: When Lynch wants to be understood he makes it plain. He spent the better part of 20 years saying Twin Peaks was "dead as a doornail" or at best, things like "it's still out there, we just can't see it".

When his statements began to become more vague around 2010-2011 or so and he started saying things like "you never know", I became suspicious; it wasn't like him to change that up. When the Between Two Worlds short with the Palmers was announced for the Blu-Ray set I became really suspicious, but I still didn't think it would lead to a Season 3, just... something. When the announcement came I was somehow both mildly unsurprised yet still utterly flabbergasted. I just never thought it would ever happen.

The fact that Lynch is still talking like this makes me think something must be in the offing, someday.

There certainly has to be.
Showtime is 100% up for it.

Mark,as per his last interview in December said he is thinking of a continuation as well.

David on the other hand is difficult to interpret, but since has never said a direct no we can assume there are some chances for a continuation

Almost the whole cast ,I think is up for a continuation

Would you by chance have a link to this December interview? The last relevant quote I've collected from Mark Frost is from November when he was speaking with the creator of Mr. Robot.

OK, I've got that one. Thanks. Frost certainly does make a continuation sound like a realistic possibility in that particular interview.
