6) not anymore "green glove", and so different killing of Bob

7) less digital old style Computer graphic

sounds akin to the no jar jar binks fanedit of star wars episode 1.

well, I made the mistake of watching the season 2 mid-season slump over one long weekend with friends. it's their first time through. we had a lot of donuts, but at the end we fell into a valley of despair. the final episode didn't help the mood either. while it's great, the ending is the straw that broke the camel's back, for my friends at least. i'm used to it and appreciate the finale by now and know what follows.
so, just so you know, if you plan to watch Twin Peaks regularly with your friends, maybe don't marathon your way through the season 2 mid-season slump, because you might feel miserable afterwards...

anyway, the experience got me thinking that I would love to see a shortened edit of episode 17 to 28. I might do this myself if it doesn't already exist and wouldn't be too painful to do. Would be nice if this ride could be a bit smoother...

For me, the so-called "mid-second season slump" is like a gulp from the heavenly spring after the dreaded "Dougie slump" of S 3 - except that one lasts for about 80 % of the new series! YECH.

Quite curious about how you're gonna work around the green glove.

Today i found the solution for eliminate the "green glove", so Bob is killed in a different way now....
Later i will upload on vimeo a short clip with the new music.

The green glove was what put an end to my plans of doing an edit. There is no story, there is no ending, no amount of editing (without access to possible cut material) can fix that.

You know, all that sugar will plunge you into the same valley, not sure what to blame now!

Back in 2004 I did a rewatch with my brother and we especially loved the "slump" during that run. We talked about it beforehand, almost puzzled by its contents, describing the show as suddenly taking a turn and depicting things like, "the same shot of James riding his motorcycle for ten minutes straight!". We loved it. I think that regardless of what happened and why, we've got it, and might as well have as much fun with it as possible.

Every time I rewatch S2, the slump feels less deep and shorter than before. There's at least something interesting going on all the time, and the Windom Earle -plot starts quite soon.

Maybe S3 will become watchable in 25 years, who knows.

Of course, one has to note the Windom Earle plotline is for some the very core of the slump, if not the slump itself. :)

yeah the key to enjoying/tolerating this part of the show is to manage one's expectations. i think season 3 also presents a fun way to look at the mid season 2 slump. It is just a manic phase for the town before it enters a decades long depressive episode caused by the collective denial of the dreadful truth behind laura's life and death. the textual support I have for this reading is admittedly pretty flimsy reading but what kind of headcanon isn't? and I like that it keeps laura central to what's going on at a time when her presence is rarely if ever felt in the show. I'll probably suss this out more when I rewatch the whole series again this fall.
